Could Not Getting in My Water Be Causing this Stall?
bobbyswife replied to LaceGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We all gained the weight that brought us to surgery because we were kidding ourselves. Granted some of us have physical limitations too, but the fact is that "occasional" oreo and the few pieces of chocolate are catastrophic to those of us that deal with one indulgence, two indulgences, 15 indulgences. You get the point. Don't start down that road of lies. Get the crap out of your house and refocus. -

Vegas 20 days after surgery?
bobbyswife replied to alovelynewme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surely to God you don't mean drink as in alcohol. Have you not read about your post op diet? I think you need to understand what you're up against. 20 days is really soon for that kind of vacation. Can you postpone the surgery? This is a really critical time in your life. My surgeon won't allow alcohol for a whole year after surgery! Much less 20 days!!! -
Either way you'll be on liquids because of preop diet

This is a great message and the only thing I would add is "stop comparing yourself to others". Nobody is the same and nobody will lose at the same rate. Live with love and light. Thanks for the post! I will remember this after my surgery <3 -
I'm a pre-sleevie so take any advice I give with a grain of salt because I can only go on what I've seen other people post. I've seen countless posts about people having 4-6 weeks stalls and then BAM it starts falling off again. I would say trust the process, get back to basics, protein first, don't drink while eating (30 minute rule) and do some form of exercise. Are you drinking lots of water?

I would be most concerned about this... what if you need help after surgery? And they don't answer the phone?!?!?! Might need to look into a new surgeon!

Bariatric Advantage meal replacements?
bobbyswife posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon requires that my 2 week pre op diet be "Bariatric Advantage". Has anyone used these meal replacements? Please tell me they are tolerable... I tried the Premier Protein today just to try and see if I liked it for post op and I was oh so not impressed, and I usually like those kinds of things, but the chocolate was ICK.- 15 replies

Bariatric Advantage meal replacements?

Bariatric Advantage meal replacements?
bobbyswife replied to bobbyswife's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I guess "require" was the wrong word to use. They just prefer it. And yes I'm sure they get a kickback but that's neither here nor there to me. I know he is a world class surgeon so if that's my only beef with him then it is what it is. It's actual just about $127 for the two weeks. I think someone else said $300 for pre and post op. Thanks for the feedback! I will keep all of that in mind -

bobbyswife replied to soontobethinagain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon does everything a little different. They get the first approval before I ever come in. I go on the 10th for a workshop and then on Nov 18th for all my appts (NUT, psych, bloodwork, fit test). The scheduled my surgery the first day I came in on Oct 15th. -

@@Jennifer Rogers you have to make yourself walk! Blood clots are still a risk at 1 week post op. Please try to move around, but if you are dizzy make sure someone is assisting you. If you are THAT dizzy, go to the ER. Don't mess around with this. If you need fluids and are seriously dehydrated, they will have trouble getting a vein. My daughter has a brain disease and once got so dehydrated they had to tap a main artery to get fluids in her. You do NOT want to go through that.
