@ You my dear, are my hero. You give me so much hope because I have such limited mobility I won't be able to workout much until A LOT of this weight is off and my joints allow it. Keep up the good work! -
Do you have degenerative arthritis or fibromyalgia?
bobbyswife replied to bobbyswife's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@3Pugaliers I fully expect to go into a 3-alarm flare up after surgery, because every invasive procedure brings one on, as you know. I am crossing all fingers and toes hoping that in the long run I will feel better though. Some days it's hard to determine what my pain source is from. The degenerative arthritis I have is so bad in my back, feet, and neck, but the fibro affects my arms so badly that most days I can barely lift a coffee cup with my left arm. -
I overlooked SO much in my excitement and didn't ask my surgeon a lot of questions that I really should have had answers to. Just make sure you are well informed. That's the very best thing you can do. If you are armed with LOTS of information, I truly believe you will have better results and be readily prepared for any possible complication. I think 5 days off is not enough though. Is it possible to get off a few more days? I know some people have gone back after 1 week, but my dr. says nothing short of 2 weeks off for me and I have a desk job.

Unprepared for this complication

Tammy please keep us updated. I have you in my prayers! -
I saw someone post on here (and now I can't find it) where she stayed on Protein shakes much longer than required and that seemed to aid not only in her weight loss initially, but also gave her new tummy extra long to heal and repair before moving onto pureed and mushies. If I remember correctly it was about 2-3 months she did this post op. Granted, this approach would mean that one would actually have to tolerate shakes to be able to remain their sanity, but has anyone else heard of this option?

Shakes long term?
bobbyswife replied to bobbyswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW! These are all great suggestions! It's great to see all the interesting feedback. -
Well, you are all just awesome. I have been on countless "diet" websites before and they are just awful (MFP is the worst). So many clique's and people who act like they're better than you. I have never before experienced an online environment that is so welcoming. Even when people disagree, they usually don't get catty or ugly. I think that speaks volumes to the nature of people on here. So, "thanks" to all of you. It gives me a warm fuzzy as I look forward to surgery knowing that you'll all be there for me, just like you are for everyone else.

Consider finding a counselor that specializes in food addiction. Don't wait til you have surgery to start this. Start it now.

Still have your gallbladder? -
@@Miss Mac You are smart to encourage her to do those things. I cut out caffeine a few weeks ago because I do NOT want to go through the DT's while also doing a 2 week liquid preop. Can you say go postal? Now that I'm finished with the caffeine headaches I've moved on to pushing Water, water, water and chewing each small bite of food 30 times. @@avermette take the time to put into practice some of these things to ease your way into your new lifestyle.

What do you see when you look in the mirror?
bobbyswife replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've often wondered about this. When I have lost weight in the past, my brain never had time to catch up because I was always gaining and losing. It'll be interesting to hear from those on the other side. -
My body feels awful...

You're right, but nobody is diagnosing anything. If anything we've all encouraged her to seek medical attention. Love and light.
