Isopure samples or singles?
bobbyswife replied to bobbyswife's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I know what you mean! I have been trying to try all sorts, although from what I understand even if I like it now, I might not like it after surgery. I tried the chocolate premier protein and wasn't impressed. Today I tried a vanilla Bariatric Advantage and much less impressed, which sucks because that's the brand my Dr. has me using for pre-op starting 12/4 -
Anybody know where I can buy Isopure samples or singles? I am trying to avoid buying a whole pack in case I don't like them. OR, if anyone has some they would like to get rid of I will send you a prepaid shipping label and pay for the samples.

anyone getting sleeved in DECEMBER?
bobbyswife replied to taniamatts's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Did anyone ever start a FB group or anything like that for December sleevers? It's not always easy to find these old posts. -
This thread is a little old, but I'm in GA, too. Gwinnett Bariatrics - Duluth

Please Help Food Cravings
bobbyswife replied to carol9077's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try using other things to distract you. Go to the movie theater, read a book, take a long bubble bath, paint your nails, chew on pellet ice, or journal. -
Congratulations! The time will pass by fast!

Thank you so much for sharing this! It's really awesome for us pre-sleevies to hear these kinds of stories. -
Does anyone else hate the way they feel after they eat
bobbyswife replied to Momma_D's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep - I'm trying to wrap my head around that food = fuel thing. It's that and only that. -
Hernia repair with gastric sleeve?
bobbyswife replied to 4me4them's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgeon said he will always repair a hernia if he finds one, but it doesn't increase the hospital stay in most cases. -
Sounds annoying! You might try messaging @@Alex Brecher.

Sleeved a year ago and stopped losing...need advice!
bobbyswife replied to Kimberlee1383837812's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you counting cals? Try using my fitness pal and log EVERYTHING. There has to be a missing link somewhere. Go back to basics. No drinking while eating. Protein first. Do you drink alcohol? -
My surgery is Dec. 18th. About 2 weeks ago I came off all caffeine and started practicing eating very slow. One week ago I stopped all alcohol and made a conscious effort to chew each SMALL bite at least 30 times. This weekend is my last weekend to have caffeine free carbonated beverages and to start a high protein diet. Next week I will start replacing one meal with a protein shake. I'm also pushing water, water, water. Start now making changes. I for one didn't want to be detoxing off caffeine and soda while trying to do my 2 week pre-op diet. I would go postal!

That's probably why. Was it not doing it before?
-
I haven't noticed that happening at all. Are you on a computer or phone or tablet?

First week post-surgery
bobbyswife replied to rhayla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From what I understand, scrambled eggs aren't allowed for quite some time. I would urge you to stick to the post op diet. You aren't doing yourself any favors by pushing it. Complications can be SERIOUS if you don't do what your Dr. tells you to do. And you aren't going to get addicted to Lortab. I had two full liquid bottles after tonsillectomy and never had a single problem. -
Have you called your insurance company yourself? I recommend doing that if you haven't. The number is on the back of your card. They should tell you what their process is.

Ambivalence is defined as the state of having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about something. On this particular journey in my life I've decided that I have but only two kinds of days. The only way I can refer to them is as positive days and negative days. The two never seem to cross paths, and each morning promises one of the two. A new friend of mine that I have begun to get to know through this site, said it best; "It's almost like a strange retake on Groundhog's Day, where we've somehow got caught up in this (seemingly) never ending loop." That's exactly how I feel. I fall asleep at night thinking one of two things, either worry about the surgery and/or post op, or feeling excited about the surgery and/or post op success. I wake up feeling either anxious about how many days are left until surgery or hopeful about how positive my life will change for the better. I'm not quite sure why I keep vacillating so much between these two outlooks. The good thing about being on this site is that you can read all sorts of varying experiences from literally thousands and thousands of people. The bad thing about it is the exact same thing. It's the epitome of a catch 22. Sometimes when I read horror stories that people have gone through or turmoil that people going through right now as a result of surgery, its sets my nerves on overdrive. One side of me says, "that won't happen to me", and the other side says, "the risk here is real, even the risk of death". Those two extremes are just that. Extreme. Granted, I'm relatively healthy other than morbid obesity, degenerative arthritis and fibromyalgia. I don't have blood pressure problems or heart issues. But, the clock is ticking. I am getting no younger and no thinner being incapable of exercise in this state that I'm in. I know that I've made the right choice and I know that the more positive I remain, the better I will do. If I don't go through this surgery, one thing is for sure, I will get sicker, I will get heavier, and I will face more health challenges. My mind is made up, I just wish I could stop this cycle.

Do you have degenerative arthritis or fibromyalgia?

Thank you all for your replies. Sometimes I get discouraged that post op I might have trouble losing since I can't exercise other than walking on good days. -
Finding the person you were meant to be...

I admire you. I can't even "look" when my husband drives us over a bridge. And God forbid if I'm driving! What a nightmare! -
Surgery and having a cold
bobbyswife replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Seriously, do 2-3 a day and it will knock it out. -

I watched your video and that is HORRIFYING. I am so scared of bridges and anything that resembles one, but you are right - I need to start conquering that fear.
