    Has anyone experienced this?

Yes, just make sure that post workout you get about 20 of those 100. Fuel that muscle and you'll have better recovery, better sleep and better results!

    Has anyone experienced this?

Make sure you backup that power workout with at least 20 gm protein!

    Stuck.

Your body needs a period of adjustment during any change. Also, your muscles will retain a lot of water in the beginning. Stay the course!
  4. Your surgeon doesn't have someone on call?!?!

    9 hours away

You'll be fine. Piece of cake! Stay POSITIVE, that's the best thing you can do for yourself. Don't forget... walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip. Repeat.
  6. I'm 5'3". I'm getting my clothes at Goodwill because I'm going through them so fast, and some of them I have to have the lengths altered. Should only cost you about 7-8 bucks per pair.

It'll probably all level out. I'm surprised you weren't hungrier when you started working out an hour a day. For me, I can be feeling lots of hunger one day and the very next day have zero appetite at all. It's baffling.

    Cold colder freezing. .

I'm freezing all the time! I keep a heater on in my office and now my coworkers refer to my office as "the sauna", but I'm still cold!
  9. Good luck! It's a wild ride!

    need advice

Wish I'd done it years ago! I had a worse time with my tonsillectomy. Hands down.
  11. THANK YOU ALL! I feel great!
  12. I did liquids for 1 week. Then at 8 days I was released to mushy and soft chewed very well. Including eggs! I still can only eat 1/2 a scrambled egg. At 4 weeks now I can eat most soft foods. Nothing too dry, and no steak or raw veggies yet obviously.
  13. @@savoy7658 Revisions may take longer, but I took off 18 days (over the holidays). But, I've seen some people return to work after 1 week. When I went back to work I was really tired at the end of the day for the first week, but by the 2nd week back I was totally back to normal. I'd say to be safe, take 2 weeks if you can.

    46 down so far

  15. I just had my surgery in Dec., but my kids are grown (21 and 17). I struggled with PCOS starting in my teens and up until I had NovaSure when I was 38. It doesn't always affect pregnancy. In my case I don't think it did, but I was much healthier when I got pregnant.
  16. Me! But I had it before I was super fat. I was still able to get pregnant eventually. Eat a Paleo diet starting now and get used to eating protein and low carb. That will make the surgery process easier.

    It's the $*%$^%$ INTERNET!

Where have I been? I'm dying to see where this started. It's the nosey neighbor in me. Wait, no... Nobody's in me. I meant... Oh whatever...
  18. I was sleeved on Dec. 18th. The process went perfectly, except like many, I had a very large hernia that I didn't know I had (about the size of an orange) and that had to be repaired at the same time. I can honestly say that my tonsillectomy surgery a few years ago was far worse than my VSG, so I'm happy about that. What I'm not happy about is that for the last week (I'm on soft foods) I have been feeling what feels like major hunger just a short time after I eat. I have never had reflux except for when I was pregnant long, long ago, but I don't really feel like that's what I'm feeling. This is a gurgling, hunger sensation. It's certainly happening sooner after I eat something like soup, and takes longer when I eat more solid food. BUT, a major reason I had this surgery was to (albeit temporarily) shut up the hunger for a while. I called my Dr. and they didn't seem to think it's reflux because it's not a burning or feeling in my chest or throat. The nurse asked my eating routine and I told her that I have breakfast every morning (about a 1/2 a scrambled egg), and a protein hot tea on the way to work around 730 am. By 1030 I am feeling this famished feeling. She asked me if I am hungry in the morning and I said no way. I have never been the type to be really hungry first thing in the morning even pre-op. So, her suggestion was not to eat breakfast and wait until I feel hunger a little later and start eating then. But, isn't this a contradiction in terms? Aren't we supposed to eat breakfast for a healthier metabolism? Sorry for the long rant, but I was wondering if anyone else is feeling a lot of hunger so early post op? Any suggestion are much appreciated! Love you all!

    Panic! 1/8/15

All your feelings are completely normal. We all had them in some form or another. I've said this before, and I can only speak about my experience, but my VSG was 100's of times easier than my tonsillectomy 2 years ago. I'm 20 days out and I feel better than ever.
  20. The most important thing right now is hydration and Protein. Other than that you need to rest when you can and allow healing to happen. If you want an indoor low-impact exercise there are zillions on youtube.
  21. Friend me on MFP if you want. Just tell me who you are on here so I know who you are. I am sleevedgirl.

Oh trust me, I want to do something like that, but I've seen so many people pay the price so I'm gonna let y'all be my reason for not doing it!
