  1. Hi Karen! Welcome to BP! Please keep us posted on how you're doing
  2. This is one of those things that you need to decide with your doctor. I'm sure there's way more to it than could fit in a post, but ultimately this is up to you to decide. I would want to make sure that I understood WHY it happened and if it could happen again. That would be the one thing I would personally need to know.

    Genepro

Their website states that some sediment will end up at the bottom but that it isn't protein and shouldn't be expected to all blend in. I have seen tips for the hot food - take your Gen and dissolve it in the smallest amount of cool liquid first and then add it to your hot liquid, but not over 140°

    Your dream outfit

    Do you enjoy cooking still?

I am looking forward to cooking after surgery. I have been collecting / pinning so many bariatric friendly recipes that my family will love! Especially the world according to eggface. Her recipes look so great!
  6. French fries dipped in a Wendy's frosty!

    Driving after wls

When I've had past procedures, no pain meds just means the last dose must be worn off by the time you drive. So, depending on the meds, 4-12 hours.
  8. I have read of others having colds prior to surgery and as long as there's no fever you should be good to go.

    Driving after wls

It's all going to depend on how you feel, from what I hear everyone is different. If you can't drive you could always take a cab or get someone to drive you.

    6 month monitor plan

Just stick to your plan and keep your eye on the prize!

How do you guys eat out...

Chick-fil-a chicken nuggets are the BOMB. This will probably be my go-to post op if I'm out and need protein.
  12. From what I've read I think that's possible, but even if it doesn't happen, just think about how great you'll look next year!

    The new me

I have never seen anything like that. That's interesting that they would suggest coffee and tea since most Dr.'s want you to get off caffeine before surgery.

    ONEDERLAND!

You look amazing and you look like you feel amazing, too!

    The new me

Did you surgeon not give you a pre-op diet plan?
  16. Hopefully one day I can participate in this!

    My Chocolate-Free Purse

That's awesome! I bought some pants once just because they were SO cute. They are hanging in my closet and I call them my "goal pants"

    Gastric sleeve operation

Nobody but you can say if you're making the right decision. For me, it's definitely the right decision

    Cursed or blessed?

"Whatever I want with no consequences" I am guessing that's a stretch. Can you eat the VOLUME you used to eat? I would say if you are eating and becoming full after small portions you are blessed! That's awesome - be proud
  20. Pre-op diet starts on Weds!

The Big day is getting closer and closer. Good luck on your pre-op diet.

  21. Carbonation can erode the lining of the esophagus and stomach, so it's best not to have them so that your tummy is as healthy as possible. Just do lots and lots of water instead!
  22. That sounds miserable! Maybe you have a hemorrhoid or something in there that feels like the rock?

    Pre op diet!

I start mine this upcoming Weds. I have a few minor food funerals, but didn't go crazy. Of course I also enjoyed Thanksgiving without going overboard too. It's getting really close now!

    Numbness after surgery?

Nerve issues are no fun at all, this is something I deal with a lot because of arthritis and damaged nerves. The good news is that if it is spine related, a lot of those nerves will regenerate. Have you ever tried a chiropractor adjustment? I know a lot of people are iffy about this, but sometimes it can be very helpful if you're simply out of alignment.
