March 2015 Sleevers...How are you? Poll
moonlitrose25 replied to readinva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on March 25th. I was back in the hospital after 3 weeks. I had a pin sized hole in my stomach and spent a week at the hospital for pumped full of antibiotics and I was severely dehydrated because I couldn't even keep Water down. I am doing much better and I'm even back to work. Surgery Weight: 267 Current Weight: 217 Total Lost: 50 lbs Pre Surgery size-20 Current size-16 Concerns: Getting my Vitamins. The chewable ones make me gag. Have to buy them all in small pill form. Also having a hard time getting the right amount of Protein. I'm only getting 30-40 per day. Joys: Love that I can fit in a lot of my old clothes but I had to give away 4 garbage bags full of clothes that no longer fit. Exercise: I've been walking every night and chasing my 19 month old around the yard. He also loves going for a walk with mommy and my neighbors. This week I'm going to start adding the resistance bands. -
Looking for suggestions for broths...
moonlitrose25 replied to djay210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought Ramen noodles because they are super cheap and I just made a packet with 4 cups of Water. I know it's very high in sodium but I hated the other broths out there. I also bought some Campbell's condensed chicken noodle and made it with a cup of water. Then strained all the noodles and "Meat" out. It was a lot easier to have broth that way. -
I was Sleeved on 3/25... 3/25 = 267 lb 3/30 = 249 lb 4/7 = 243 lb 4/14 = 236 lb 4/25 = 230 lb 5/1 = 221 lb 5/4 = 218 lb Total lost so far is 49 lbs!!!

I'm the 25th as well. Spent weekend doing laundry and cleaning. I have to do a little more cleaning and I'm prepping food for my son and husband tonight to freeze. I didn't pack anything yet. I don't even know what to pack, I'm thinking phone, charger, toothbrush/paste, deoderant, hair brush and clothes to come home in. Hopefully that's it!! I'm very nervous and excited. I'm just trying to stay busy to keep my mind occupied! Hey good luck to everyone and best wishes!!!!! -

Those 6 months go quicker than I thought it would. It was actually nice because I was able to research foods and activities for after surgery. I feel ready now. -

I was told that I could drink premade glucerna hunger smart, boost glucose control or slim fast low carb but to limit it to one maybe 2 a day. -

When I first went to get my weight and BMI, I had a BMI of 42 and had the same fear as you. The nurse told me that she wanted me to stay about 40 BMI and gave me a goal of only losing 10 lbs and told me that you just need to show that you are making an effort and that even just few lbs lost and maintaining should be enough. I just did my second CO test this morning and passed so I am all done with all appointments and I just started my 2 week pre-op diet this morning to shrink my liver. I get sleeved on the 3/25 and I'm very excited. Good luck to everyone!!! -
I checked out their website and it's Whey Protein except they claim they have removed all the lactose and fat. Not sure how that all works. But I think I'll stop by the grocery store tonight and get some to try out before my surgery.
