Eating normal as in pre surgery normal
Wendyfm replied to laylalayla's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You can't. You will never be able to eat as much now as you did before. You are however able to eat whatever you want. I can't believe you had a life changing surgery if you weren't obese. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Mixture of feelings including shame, denial, and more guilt.
Wendyfm replied to DylanRae's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Exercise can be as simple as walking. Try logging what you Eat. I do every day on My Fitness Pal. It helps me stay honest, although I slip up every now and then . Although I'm two and a half years out and the most I've gained from my lowest weight is five pounds and then I lose it again. That said I'm twenty pounds over my idea of ideal weight. You don't have to train for a marathon or anything, but you do need to be active everyday. In the summer I walk almost every day and in the winter I try to be active 5 days a week, through step, Pilates and an exercise bike. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Resources for Meal Planning / Prepping? Dealing with head hunger?
Wendyfm replied to mari.beth's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I eat three meals a day and at least one snack. Snacks can be fruit, nuts, veggies . I eat low calorie Jello if I get head hunger. I also will eat Peanut Butter and crackers or for me, even peanut butter and an English muffin. But, I am two years out and have kept off a hundred pound weight loss on 1,200 calories 60-80 grams of Protein 100-130 grams of carbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Who has made it to normal BMI?
Wendyfm replied to gpmed's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My bmi is 31 so still considered obese. Since it was 49, and I feel good and have good cholesterol and blood pressure, I'm not too worried. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Stupid things people say when they find out you've had surgery....
Wendyfm replied to Awjones28's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm two years out, the other day I was talking to the librarian of the school I work at about having pictures taken. I told him that Before I lost weight I hated having my picture taken, but now I don't mind. He said" what you've lost weight?" I said " 100 pounds !" He said what? "I don't remember you being fat!" I had to say thank you and try not to laugh. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Average weight loss: worth it? Starting to feel discouraged...
Wendyfm replied to Lauriep's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So, I lost 100 pounds, about 66% of my excess weight. I'm still considered obese, my bmi is 31-compared to a bmi of 49. After a year I stopped losing and have maintained this weight pretty easily for over a year. Was I disappointed that I haven't lost more? A little, but was it worth it? Hell,ya! I feel better, I look better, sleep Apnea gone, high blood pressure gone. I can cross my legs, walk forever and I just feel great. So. 90 pound weight loss is definitely worth it. Sorry, it has taken so long for some one to respond to you. If you've had your surgery I hope it has gone well. I had mine done at DHMC in Lebanon Nh. And it was a definite success. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Addiction rearing its ugly head
Wendyfm replied to jdmama911's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am a past smoker. It's been almost ten years, and after having surgery two years ago, I would get cravings or thoughts about smoking out of the blue. Since I've been a no smoker for so long, I've been able to control them, but just barely. When I quit I used nicotine gum, that may be helpful for you. You are so wise to start to figure this out, before you were in a situation that you couldn't get out of. Some kind of support group would be helpful I think. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Do you still identify as a wls patient?
Wendyfm replied to Healthy_life2's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Yes, I do, two years out I' m still dealing with my weight and weight loss issues. I still measure and weigh my food. I also weigh myself daily. In doing so I have kept 100 pounds off for the last year. As part of my weight loss I will see a nurse and nutritionist yearly for the rest of my life. My mom always talks about losing weight and how she's between an eight and a six. She's over 70 so that's great, but she does it after discussing the amount of weight I've lost and that I'm now a sixteen instead of a twenty six, two years ago. I see her once a year so I think she forgets. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Nervous -- How about some stories on how much better you feel?
Wendyfm replied to sc101071's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm two years out and a hundred pounds down. I weigh 172 and am a 16/18, depending on make of clothes. I would not change anything about my journey. I no longer have high blood pressure and have stopped using my c-pap machine, although not officiall, pretty sure that I no longer have sleep Apnea, as I no longer have symptoms of it. I also hike and walk, which I found difficult before. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
OK, not trying to be mean, but there actually are stupid questions lol
Wendyfm replied to anniebanana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Peanut Butter on whole wheat English muffins every morning. Peanut butter was on my list. People, use common sense. If you just had surgery, liquid or soft foods. After five weeks or so. Regular food as tolerated and if I remember right 1/2 cup at a time. By two years out probably one cup is good or 4 ounces of Protein. And my nutritionist says carbs are not bad in small doses.
