Ok, how long to go down a trouser size?
Wendyfm replied to Biddy zz 🏳️🌈's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I lost 100 pounds and went from 26/28 heading to a thirty to a solid 14/16 and any where from a medium to extra large in a top depending on make. I went down sizes slowly, but you will probably be down a size in six weeks. -
I also lost hair at about four months out. I solved the problem by getting a pixie cut.[emoji5], but I like short hair. For me it grew back as thick as it was before.

Bypass , sleeve, lapband?
Wendyfm replied to Rudedogg89's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had the sleeve done three years ago and have lost and kept off 100 pounds. I occasionally have bouts of heart burn and gerd. When I get it I take Prilosec for a few weeks and I’m good. I do have hunger and do not always eat healthy, but 90% of the time I’m a healthy eater and if I eat too many sweets my body lets me know, so no matter what the surgery is you have to listen to your body and enjoy food in moderation. -
It definitely depends on where you get it done. I was in from Monday until Thursday, would have gone home on a Wed., but couldn’t keep anything down.

I’m three years out. I ate ham, squash, stuffing, potato and later apple pie. Of course in smaller portions. Scraped most of the stuffing and potato in the garbage.

Low Blood Pressure Post-Op? Anyone?

I had the same issue when I had surgery several years ago. I ended up going off my blood pressure med entirely and have had good books ever since. -
The good, bad and the ugly. CARBS!
Wendyfm replied to heycrystal2052's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I was losing weight I averaged 100 grams or less. I've never gone really low on carbs. Now I average 100-140 a day. If I go above 150 I gain water weight. I also average 1,00-1,200/1,300 depending on the day. -
I am three years out and down 100 pounds. Top weight, 272 surgery weight 240 or so current weight 171. I have maintained 171-175 for two years.

I tried driving about a week after surgery and was glad I only drove about a mile. My reflexes felt all off. I waited about another three days before I drove again and was fine.

Is anyone having a hard time dealing with all of the new attention? I'm 6 months out.
Wendyfm replied to lisaBme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It got embarrassing for a while, now three years out this has become the new norm. I miss the attention now, sometimes[emoji4] -
I'be been told no NSAIDs and take Tylenol for pain. That being said I hurt my shoulder a couple of years ago and my primary care physician told me to take them for swelling. I did and had no issues. Still I have not used them other than that short period of time. I am especially careful because Had an ulcer about a year before surgery and just don't want to chance it.
-
I'm three years out so I have a whole grain English muffin, either peanut butter, goat cheese or an egg and coffee and either a banana or fruit.
-
I just had to do a 1,000 calorie diet with less than 100 grams of carbs for a week before surgery.
-
I have the same issue with BMW charts. I was 49 at 275 pounds. I'm now at 31 at 172. Still considered obese, but I don't see an obese person. When I talk to my doctors they just say, I've done fantastically and not to worry about BMISo I'm not,for right now anyway.

After post op how long did you wait to return to work?
Wendyfm replied to Ready2enjoylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work in a school, so I scheduled my surgery for the Seventh of July in2014 and went back to work end of August. I was glad I took that time off, just for the food piece. It was five weeks before I was eating solid food -
Well, I'm three years out so I eat a lot of salads as well as lots of protein. I think I was about three months out when I started eating salad.
-
I'm a moderate carb, moderate protein, moderate fat kinda gal and have maintained a 100 pound weight loss for three years on 1,100-1,400 calories a day. So I think moderation is the key.
