Wendyfm replied to tfarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a single parent with an Autistic child.I made a will out stipulating who would have custody of my kiddo. I found my life insurance policy and wrote out a living will. Then I felt better and less panicky. -
I was using miralax, which works well, but didn't like the graininess . Now I eat three prunes every morning and that seems to help.

Wendyfm replied to utahgirll's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel at times like I am on an emotional roller coaster, however I was prepared for this. I know that if I am in a funk today, that I should feel better tomorrow. I also eat carbs, not a lot,but some. They're part of the diet that I follow. -

Boopgwee. I have been losing an average of 5-8 pounds, but I'm a pretty slow loser. I've lost 42 pounds in not quite 5 months. -

Wendyfm replied to elpasovet's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well, I had nausea and vomiting in the hospital, had to stay an extra day, plus I'm losing my hair. I got over the throwing up in a day and got a pixie cut for my hair. This surgery is worth it. I've lost over seventy pounds, can move around so much better and am off my blood pressure medication . I would do it again in a heartbeat. -

I've lost head hair. So I cropped it,and that made my hair look thicker. I haven't noticed if I've lost pubic hair, or not. It didn't seem to affect my excess facial hair any????.

I was very motivated over the summer and was walking for 40 minutes a day.7 days a week. I'm down to four days a week of step aerobics. Thirty minutes at a time. You just have to make your self.

You are definitely not too old. I had the sleeve in July at 52 and immediately had health benefits, like no more blood pressure medication.asthma Ned's, and am no longer pre diabetic. I am alittle baggier and wrinkled than I want to be, but it's a good trade off.

Earrings, necklaces and make-up. I had stopped wearing make-up along time ago and I couldnever fit into a regular necklace. I just started wearing make-up again and necklaces. In particular big chunky necklaces. I do like clothes, but am still shrinking so wearing a mix of old and new. I did do a happy dance when I bought size eighteen chinos. I started off at a 28/30 .

Is this correct? Standards for carbs and proteins as per dietitian....
Wendyfm replied to natalie_christin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was told to eat between 1,000 and 1,200 calories a day. No less than 60 grams of protein. No less than60 grams of carbs and no more than 150 grams of carbs and between 48 to 64 oz of canine free liquid a day. I usually eat around 1,000 calories. I notice if I go below 800 calories I stop losing weight. -

Calorie Intake & Stalls
Wendyfm replied to RozzieJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stalled early on and then spent a month losing .5 pounds a week. I finally talked to my nurse practitioner and she said I was eating too few calories. I was eating 500 -800, when I increased my intake to around 1,000 I started losing again. I'm eating around 1,000 now and losing between one to two pounds a week. Not a lot,but slow and steady. I've now lost 40 pounds since surgery in July and seventy since last March. -
Goals During the Holiday Season
Wendyfm replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's just me and my two sons fr Christmas,so I won't have huge quanities of food on hand anyway. I will probably have a taste of pumpkin pie and alittle of everything. I'm pretty careful about sticking to my limit, especially after an episode of vomiting a few weeks ago,so not too worried.
