Did your shoe size change after weight loss surgery?
Wendyfm replied to Okiebon's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm down about a half size and my feet are narrower. For example he first time in a long time I'm in regular width shoes. -
Bougie Size- disappointed

I just re read your post. You shouldn't even be eating solid foods yet or just starting on them. You could really damage yourself! Be careful. And ten pounds in a month is good. -
Bougie Size- disappointed

What and how much you eat is as important if nor more important than how much stomach your doctor removed. I lost thirty pounds before my surgery by following the same diet I am now. I have lost 50 pounds after surgery as well for a total of 82 pounds. Be patient, follow, the diet you'll lose weight. Oh and exercise it helps. -
Sounds like a good start to me. I was sleeved last July and have lost fifty pounds since then, so you're losing faster than myself and I am exercising and getting enough protein. Everyone loses at their own pace.

When you buy a bathing suit, that not only fits, but looks cute on you. Middle aged cute, but cute. It's a two piece with a swim skirt and a tank top. Oh and first suit in over twenty years -

Does WLS Help a Spouse Lose Weight?
Wendyfm replied to nurseintraing's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm separated, but my fifteen year old son has lost about ten pounds since I had surgery in July. He doesn't need to lose weight. He's slender and a picky eater, I've been struggling to get him to eat. He's Autistic and on a med. that affects his appetite also,so before was eating more processed food and junk. So I've had to buy some snack foods for him and ensure and that did the trick. -

Good job -
I'm fifty three and I've definitely got a Turkey neck. It is more noticeable in some clothes than others so try to avoid focus on it. I've lost almost 80 pounds,so am saggy every where any way.

7 months out- hit a big wall. Not losing at all
Wendyfm replied to mi75's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm a little over six months out and my whole journey has been stall lose, stall lose. That said I've lost almost eighty pounds since last March.thirty before surgery and 48 pounds after. Be patient and it will come off. -
I'm six months out and was told at least 80 and no more than 120-140. I try to stay around 100.

Good job!

2 weeks to go, and I am really nervous...
Wendyfm replied to JerseyJules's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved in July and can eat up to a cup of food at a time. 3oz of meat 1/2 cup of veggies and usually cottage cheese or sometimes baked potato and brown rice. I eat pizza on occasion and can manage one small piece, but that is a treat not a normal part of my diet. -
My parents sent me chocolates for Christmas. I admit that since today is Christmas I'm declaring it a cheat day. I've had several and a small piece of pumpkin ice. Tomorrow back to business..

Sometimes you just get hair loss. My protein intake is good and my hair still thinned.

Losing weight is a double edged sword, you look and feel great because you have lost weight, but you feel saggy and baggy because you lost weight. At least that is me I have jowls now and a turkey wattle neck and wrinkles on my forehead. The jowls are shrinking, but wattle and wrinkles are here to stay. I think it's something that we have to be prepared for and live with. If people can't see the inner beauty in us that's their problem.

Should I?..Do I have to?
Wendyfm replied to HalloweenBaby24's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is three weeks, four months, eight months, twelve months, eighteen months, two years and then yearly for me. I see a Nurse practitioner and a nutritionist each time. I believe it is blood work at four, eight, twelve and then two years and yearly after that. I did miss my four month check because of car problems, so messed up my cycle. -
As I have more will power than they.

Good job, you look very happy. -
Thinking that you might not even notice the hair loss.

I started losing hair about two months after surgery. I'm now about five months out and it seems to be slowing down. When my hair started looking limp I got a pixie cut. I went from a bob to really short hair I love it,except November in Vermont was probably not the best time to have really short hair. I've had to turn into a hat person!
