I am a success...that has failed to continue
Wendyfm replied to Roo101769's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
First, I empathize with you and am struggling with some of the same issues. I am 95 pounds down and have twenty to go to my goal and am stuck. Sounds like you know what to do, but just need to convince yourself to do it. Fighting yourself is a harder battle than cutting calories or carbs. I know. Good luck, you can do it. -
Halfway to goal. First before/after pic!

Calling All Sleevers with a SIPS
Wendyfm replied to Mojo56's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Just curious, what is a SIPS -
I'm a para-educator in a public school. I had surgery last July and had the summer off. Truthfully, I needed it, to get used to the eating. Physically I could have gone back after three weeks. I had a lot of fatigue early on.

Breast smaller due to weight loss
Wendyfm replied to byebyefat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went from a 46/48 DD to a 40/42D- depends on bra style as to whether I'm a forty or forty two, I have twenty pounds to go so will probably be a 38 D when 8'm done. -
I also went to DHMC. I had doctor Laycock, who I would recommend and I have had good follow up care. Oh, and I live in Bradford, vt.

I also had a sleeve and heartily recommend it. I feel good, no major dumping. I have had three bouts of vomiting because I ate a dense protein and didn't wait long enough afterward to drink and too much chocolate gives me a stomach ache, so I avoid those two things am and fine., but otherwise easy to live with and I think less complicated then the bypass.

How do I get through my Pre-op diet?
Wendyfm replied to honeyflowers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was allowed food on pre-op diet, just couldn't go over 1,000 calories or 100 grams of carbs. I found that difficult enough. -
178 gained two! Water weight. By next week he to be down one.

Is my surgeon too easy-going and liberal?
Wendyfm replied to Sara51692's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm almost a year out and have been eating on the average of 1,000 to 1,200 calories for about six to eight months out. If I go too low I don't lose. I do have to be careful with carbs, over 120 carbs I also stop losing. So I try to eat around 80 to 100 grams of carbs. For a while I was just losing 3 pounds a month, but I got back on track and lost 5 last month. -
Good, you might want to try prunes later on. I eat a couple of prunes every morning and it keeps me going.

Well I was hoping it was a kitty, not a Kitty.

I also cut my hair when I noticed it thinning. I've had a pixie cut now since December

Mine is just my name

Weird/worst Comment at Pre-op testing!
Wendyfm replied to Bndtoslv's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At the last class before surgery I had a fellow patient to be ask me if I had already had surgery. To be fair I was the smallest person there, my BMI at that point was still well over forty, so I was by no means skinny. -
Prunes.

Eleven months out and yes I get hungry, but it is around meal time when I do and I can only eat a cup of food at a time. So usually no problem. I still have some head hunger, but look for low calorie snacks to take care of that. 5 calorie jello usually fills me up.

Will we have to low carb for ever?
Wendyfm replied to ladivaluz806's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I'm allowed up to 140 grams of carbs a day y and no less than 50. I find that I lose best if I eat no more than 100 grams. -

Only 40 lbs left, but struggling... Ideas please
Wendyfm replied to TeacherMommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can relate I bought miniature reses peanute butter cups for my son, which I don't usually do. I've been stressed the last couple of days, and I like peanut butter cups. I at about ten of them yesterday and am paying for it today. My stomach is extremely upset. So my vow is to not do that again. -
