    Tired Days

I personally have not been tired, however I really good about taking my vitamins, if you are taking your vitamins as prescribed, and are still tired, you may be suffering from Anemia and could require extra iron. Please check with your doctor or nutritionist!

    2 months post op

I have lost 54 since 14 October. Last week was the first time I didn't lose any. I try to workout 5 x per week,
  7. I was told to eat protein first, vegetables second and starches last. The protein will help to avert hunger, also sources of protein are typically dense and will stay in the stomach longer without being pushed through
  8. The reason we are told not to drink before, during and immediately after meals is that the food needs to stay in your stomach for 45 minutes in order to tell your brain you are full and most importantly, allow you to stay full for 5 hours before needing to eat again. The purpose of this surgery is so that we don't eat as much. If we drink before and immediately after meals, we push the food through the stomach leaving us hungry sooner than we should be. You will, of course, be physically able to eat and drink at the same time, it just will mean you are hungrier sooner, eating more calories per day than you would need otherwise. I don't know about everyone else, but I want this weight off as soon as possible.
  9. My dietician suggested waiting 1 minute between bites the size of marbles. It really does work, in that you feel fuller while eating less.

    HELP...... 9days post op

It gets easier! Try some clothes on or take your measurements, it may help you see your success differently. I know that after losing 20 lbs I felt better, had more energy and slept better. The more you lose the easier it gets!

    where did you sleep?

I slept in my bed. I had little to no pain and did not receive pain killers after surgery, as is my surgeons practice. I didn't even need a Tylenol.

    3 days

There are a lot of hormonal changes as a result of having a major surgery. This is not at all unusual, you will start to feel better. One of the things that helped me was to get moving. I started walking on day 3, just one lap at first but it really helped me feel better. I am 2 1/2 months out now and up up to 5 miles. Good luck and let us know how you are doing!
  17. I think either would be fine, just be careful about milk as it is really high in calories. I would rather eat my calories than drink them!
  18. I use the new Bariatric advantage chewable, it isn't bad!
  19. Well, my doctor was different than some. Week 1 was liquid with 4 oz protein 3 x per day. Week 2 was soft food like yogurt, cream of wheat, etc. week 3 was more soft food like boiled or steamed soft vegetables, scrambled eggs, tuna, etc then it progressed until week 7 which included raw vegetables and all meat. My doctor did not want any puréed foods and no protein supplements at all after week 2. As for vitamins, 500 mg of b-12, a multivitamin that includes 18mg of iron, 400 mg of folic acid, vitamin d and vitamin k( I highly recommend Bariatric advantages chewable, and 500 mg of calcium carbonate 2 x per day ( I also highly recommend Bariatric advantages orange flavored chewable, kind of like a starburst). I won't know if I need an iron supplement until my 3 month post op. Good luck!
  20. I don't think you can ever blow it! Chinese is hi in sodium, but I think you made a good choice. Compare what you actually are with what you would have eaten before, that is what make you successful.
