Hello! My name is Leila and I am at the beginning of my weight loss journey. I have met with my surgeon and completed all the requirements of my insurance coverage and it appears that my gastric-sleeve surgery will be scheduled for November 12, or thereabouts. Right now I'm reading everything I can get my hands on to prepare myself for what is coming and in my Google search I found this forum. I have purchases "The Big Book on Gastric Sleeve" which arrived on my doorstep today so you know what I'll be doing this weekend!  I am both excited and nervous, but completely at peace with this decision.  I have about 140 pounds to lose and it is my hope that I will also lose my need for insulin and high BP medication as well as sleep apnea and my newly developed afib episodes. My wonderful husband is very supportive in this journey and I would love to treat him to a reunion with his former hiking partner (before I could no longer keep up with him) and once again feel attractive to him. Not that he makes me feel unattractive, Anyway, I'm sure this is going to be a mixed-bag, roller coaster of emotions and bottom line, I want to be healthy and balanced physically, emotionally and spiritually.
