Today is my birthday and it will be my first birthday without cake ever! And I'm ok with that! I'm 8.5 months out and I've been through all the holidays without even having a bite of something bad. Today is no different. In the past, I would have had to have a cake and I would haven't eaten several pieces a day until it was gone. No more of that. Going to enjoy my day knowing that I am 110 lbs lighter. No piece of cake is worth that!!!!

Lol. Thanks!

I don't and I'm 8 1/2 months out. Haven't had it yet. Not one time. My plan recommends not having any of that until after you hit your goal and even then only in moderation.

Our beginning numbers are very similar. You give me a lot of hope! How long did it take you to get to 135? -

Thank you! I feel pretty good. It's been a painful recovery, I'm not gonna lie. But at 4.5 weeks post op, my energy has pretty much returned to normal. I had a lot more muscle repair with the abdominoplasty that I needed to be done than normal, so I sstill have a fair amount of soreness in my abs, and I still wear my ab binder for support and to keep the swelling down, but that 's no biggie. How long before you could return to work? I'm a nurse so this is a big factor for me. I'm not ready at all to do this as I'm only 8 months out and 18 lbs from goal. I will have more questions in the future. I'm really hoping my insurance will cover this. Your results are amazing and I'm glad you are returning to normal!I returned after 3.5 weeks. I felt pretty good. Probably could have used one more week but I had some complications like reactions to the Percocet & I developed an infection. The type of work you do matters I would think. I'm not sure I felt up to bending, turning, lifting until at least 4 weeks I could probably take off 4 weeks but that's about it. Can I ask you what was your starting weight and how much you lost? -
Totally agree! Every single day is a challenge!

Wow!!! Looks great. How do you feel? -
Thanks Kindle. Yes, I definitely feel that things have changed restriction wise as well. And I agree with Kindle. That's how hunger is for me too. I also have to eat something every 2-3 hours.

I'm 8 months post op and have been doing great. I'm down 108 lbs. I still follow the program to a T. I exercise 4 times a week. I have about 18 lbs to go to goal. Lately I've found the hunger creeping back. I have to really pay attention to my intake. I'm not giving in to it. However, it's scary to me. Is this normal at this stage? My co workers think I've become obsessive. I've never had even a bit of something sweet or any bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, grains, etc.... I haven't even had caffeine. I just don't feel like I'm where I need to be and am not ready to eat any of that.

Thanks! For me, it's just been better to avoid it all entirely. It hasn't really been hard to do. I'm so determined to be successful with this that I was giving it 110%!

Thanks so much! I think you're right. I know what to do and not do. I guess it's just scary when this happens!

First rejection at a restaurant. So annoyed :[

Most kid menus aren't healthy anyway. I just find something on the regular menu. -
At first my goal was 80 grams. At 3 months, my doctor wanted me to increase it to 100. I get that or more every day.
-
I remember the day I got lower than my husband. I was thrilled! Mine has also been very supportive of me but hasn't changed his eating habits. I don't push. He will when he is ready. I now way about 70 lbs less than my husband and that is just shocking to me!

When Could You Eat Salad and Crunchy Vegatables?
AlanaRN replied to ab123.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
3 months out per my plan. I did try lettuce right about 3 months and didn't have an issue. Didn't try crunchy vegetables until recently and I'm 8 months out. -

Has anyone had a sleeve *and* a c-section in their life?
AlanaRN replied to Menelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 3 c sections and they were easy compared to my sleeve. My sleeve was much more painful. -
Thanks! I find it hard to complain with that weight loss but I still do!

Normal Range of Weight Loss?
AlanaRN replied to jm726's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She's talking about the percentage of your excess weight. Mine wanted us to lose 30% of excess weight by 3 months. I think that goal is very unrealistic if your NP!
