Hello! My name is Erin and I'm from Roanoke, VA. I have been considering surgery for over 5 years now. I finally have the insurance coverage I need to get the ball rolling. I will be going through the Carilionclinic with Dr. Lucktong. I had my initial appointment in October 2014 and they say it will be around the first part of this year before I have a surgery date. I am super excited. I have to lose 25 lbs before surgery per my doctor so I'm trying a low carb diet. My starting weight was 364 in October and this process could really help me get healthy and live a longer life. I appreciate all of the posts on here as each one helps me understand more of what to expect. I look forward to some great discussions! Since October I have lost 18 pounds doing low carbs. 😊
