You hair loss is normal after surgery. It is caused not only by the dramatic shift in your diet, but also due to the shock on your body due to the surgery. It's called Telogen Effluvium. On a normal scalp, about 90% of your hair follicles are producing hair, and 10% are in the resting phase. This is called the anagen phase. In this phase, your hair falls out of the follicles, and then grows back in. When you've experienced a shock to your body, it sends 30 to 40% of your hair follicles in to the resting phase. This state is called telogen. This is temporary, and I know it is scary. It happened to me after my tummy tuck, but not after my bariatric surgery. I took Vita4Life Hair, Skin & Nail after both procedures. I found my hair loss wasn't too bad when I experienced it and I'd estimate I only lost about 15% of my hair. It grew back just as healthy and I attribute the lack of loss both times to these Vitamins. I'd recommend trying them. It can't hurt. And please believe me... it'll be okay! I was scared too. It'll grow back I promise! Here's the link. http://vita4life.net/products/bariatric-vitamins-hair-skin-and-nail-support.html

Biotin for hair loss?
davidkee16 replied to MissCK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm taking my biotin and folic acid dose from vita4life’s hair skin and nail vitamin, and it is hard to believe but its results are very impressive. -
Hair loss after the surgery is common. So consider hair skin and nail vitamin for easy recovery.

I use vita4life’s vitamin b 12 sublingual, because it neither has any filers nor has any artificial additives. Moreover, it tastes good.

Bariatric vitamins
davidkee16 replied to Waiting4Sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take calcium in malate chelate 1200 mcg in a serving of 4 capsules, multivitamins in multi-standard formula and 1 vitamin b12 sublingual in the form of methylcobalamin with 1000mcg. I order them off the website of vita4life. Personally I was tired of BA as it always made me nauseous and produced no observable results in my labs. I switch when a nut advised me for vita4life. -
Supplement suggestions?
davidkee16 replied to pixigrl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was taking chewables from Bariatric Fusion. They made me feel nauseous, and I was not sure for the cause. Later from an article I found out that it contained hidden fillers like Microcrystalline/Ethyl/Hydroxy Propyl Cellulose, Silicon/Titanium Dioxide etc that caused my symtoms. After consulted a nut, I switched to vita4life. I take calcium in malate chelate 1200 mcg in a serving of 4 capsules, multivitamins in multi-standard formula and 1 vitamin b12 sublingual in the form of methylcobalamin with 1000mcg. It’s been two years and my labs look great.
