Anyone else feel like vsg made you super baby crazy? I know I've had the desire to have another baby(my son is 4) but wow, since losing 50+ lbs since my surgery 2 months ago, I'm really feeling that pregnancy bug, lol. Just wanted to see if any of you guys are feeling that too? I know you're supposed to wait and all, and I'm planning to...but my ovaries are telling a different story, lol.

When were you able to take your capsules post op?
jerseygrl6289 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey just wondering when I can stop mixing my nasty mix of lithium in liquid, it's very difficult to get all of it down. Just wondering, cuz I don't meet with my surgeon again until April 1, when you all could begin regularly taking your pills(whole) again. -
Being able to fit in non-plus size clothing! Went shopping and was able to fit into a size large!! Bought this Lauren Conrad dress from kohls and i love it!

Any good places you suggest to eat when you are in the soft food/approaching the regular food?
-
Yeah that's a good idea. Maybe a place like panera might be good?

Thank you everyone for your responses, they're all really encouraging! Since starting my 2 weeks pre- op diet and having my surgery on 3/10 I have lost 35 lbs! I'm so happy! This sleeve is blowing my mind! Can't wait to be able to eat some real food again, but I'm trusting the process and I have also found in really in tune with my body now. Never really paid super close attention to all the little feelings of fullness, etc., it's pretty cool! -

Wow, yeah you look great! That's right around my goal weight! I'm 2 days post op today and feeling pretty miserable, everytime I wake up I feel like I'm going to throw up and I'm in a lot pain/ not hungry. When am I going to be out of the woods? I did not anticipate this much discomfort, the gas is overwhelming. -
So all my paperwork has been submitted to insurance last Friday 2/13. I'm nervous bc I weighed 284 at the initial weigh -in and at my last appointment on Friday I weighed in at 293. I've worked so hard this entire time to try to get the weight back to the original 284 but it's been such a struggle, the lowest I've gotten is 290. I've cut out carbs, eaten high protein, and drank about 120 oz of water a day. I've also been working out every day but he weight won't budge. Will I get denied because of this? I've worked so hard and my doctors know it too.

Is surgical clearance appointment approval?
jerseygrl6289 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just got a call from my surgeons office this afternoon(I missed it unfortunately). The lady said I need to set up my surgical clearance appointment. All my paperwork has already been submitted. So does this mean I was approved for surgery and that I'm going to be starting the 2 week pre op diet? -

Yeah I did call back, their office was closed. Ugh. I've done all of my appointments so I know it wouldn't be any labs or anything like that because everything has been submitted and completed. Just wondering( since it's the weekend and now I'll have to wait till Monday) if this is a good sign for approval and a possible surgical date. -

I can completely relate to this. I have yet to have the surgery but was thin in college and remember all the attention from men I received. And like you said it's not about having a man fawn over you or flirt, just being acknowledged as a human being is critical for all of us. At work, my boss would overlook me constantly and always talk to the thinner girls. Men everywhere would ignore me. It's horrible to feel invisible. It's not that I need the validation of men, it's just that horrible feeling that people don't place any worth in you because you're overweight. I too am a very kind, funny, and upbeat person. It does illicit anger in me as well but I try not to fixate on it. People are shallow and I think now that I'm going through this whole process, it's made me a lot more sensitive to how I interact with everyone. I guess we could stay angry about it or just choose to be kind in spite of it.

Any healthy suggestions for super salt cravings?
jerseygrl6289 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I love anything salty and my go to for this is something high calorie or greasy. Trying to keep my weight under control but haven't found anything to help with those cravings. Any suggestions that you guys have tested? -

Oh wow those cheese chips sound awesome. And i didn't even think of pickles, those are the perfect salt solution! -
Ok so I've met with my nutritionist once so far. I had gained 4 lbs when she weighed me from the time I met with the surgeon at 284 and she weighed me at 288. My question is will I automatically be denied from that initial weight gain? If I'm able to lose that weight by my next visit, which is on October 16, and continue to either lose or maintain that weight will I not be denied. I'm just getting really worried over that initial gain. I also think it's a bit ironic that the very thing we're getting surgery for could wind up denying us the surgery that would help alleviate that problem. Ugh, oh well, please if anyone has some info about Aetna and all this please respond! Thanks!!

Exactly!! I can eat a full blown dinner and then around 8 I'm like ok it's time for a snack, except snack turns into probably a 500 calorie meal, ugh. I've been doing hummus and triscuits as a snack, guess that's better than McDonald's or Wendy's. So frustrating to get past that mental hunger/ boredom.

My nutritionist hasn't put me on anything specific. I've been doing ok with my eating, just finding the night time to be hard to stick to anything. For some reason at 8 pm I just want to eat everything in sight so it's been a struggle saying no to myself. I've definitely cut back but my weight doesn't want to budge.
