Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

Sounds like you are doing great! I'm amazed at an 80 lb loss! I'm down 30 and its been a struggle getting here. I walk everyday but probably need to do more since I'm walking the same I did before the surgery. I have lupus, fibro and some other issues that make exercise more difficult on some days. Are you drinking protein shakes? I can eat anything and can swallow pills. I usually have an egg for breakfast and 4 oz protein drink. At lunch I have yogurt and 4 oz protein drink. Dinner may be low fat turkey chili or chicken or turkey burger with broccoli. Any tips people can give would be great!

Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

I am amazed at how much weight you all are losing. I know I'm not supposed to compare but it's difficult when I see folks that are shedding major weight. I've been stalled between 260 & 262 since Dec. 3 and just recently saw the scale move. Any tips are welcome. Thanks & congrats to you all on your hard work! Surgery date: 11/19 Pre-op weight: 280 Surgery weight: 270 Current weight: 256
  3. Thanks all! The scale is moving. Not that fast but you are right...it's not going up which it would normally be doing this time of year. Adjusting my attitude and moving forward! Happy Holidays!
  4. Thank you so much for your words of wisdom.I appreciate it and am taking it to heart.
  5. I was sleeved on Nov.19 and have only lost 7 lbs since then. That's from official weigh in at the docs for my 2 week post op visit.the scale at home isn't budging although I can tell I've lost inches. I'm feeling very discouraged. I'm trying to move along but I'm getting depressed to the point that I'm wishing I never had the surgery. Eating is no longer fun...so I basically drink protein drinks and water. Maybe some homemade pureed soup now and then. Been crying. Not good. I see others who were sleeved when I was and they have dramatic weight lost. I actually lost more weight in the pre-op diet (10 lbs in 10 days) than I did in my first 2 weeks post-op. They tell me it's not a race but it's discouraging.

    Started purée diet today. Help!

I am in the pureed stage for about a week and finding it difficult. Pureed food was making me ill to look at it and the texture was gross. I went off puree tonight and cut up chicken and steamed broccoli into miniscule pieces. I listened to my stomach and stopped eating when I felt full. I didnt have any problems with it feeling stuck or anything. I worry that I won't lose because I'm moving ahead in the process. I'm still making smart food choices but dont understand why I have to puree if my body accepts whole foods. Comments?

Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

I am going for my 2 week post op check up on Wed...I was sleeved on 11/19. I lost about 8 lbs rather quickly in the post op phase but seemed to have stalled. Also, the oddest thing occurred today. All along I have been slowly sipping my liquids and stopping if I would get pain in my chest or back. Without thinking, I picked up a pint of water after walking and proceeded to drink like I normally would. After that my intake seems too easy. How could this just happen? Wondering if I could have done something to stretch my stomach I'm worried.
  8. I was sleeved on Wed. Nov. 19. I'm feeling great but I am hungry. I was placed by my doc as the other sleevers are, on a liquid diet for 2 weeks post-op. I did great on the pre-op diet which was for 10 days. No hunger, lost 10 lbs...but now I find that I am starving and Popsicles just aren't cutting it. I thought my hunger switch got turned off from this surgery. I need to add protein shakes to this diet and will try tomorrow but my system can't seem to hold on to anything. But I think the shakes will make me fill fuller. OK. I just worked through that. Lol! Let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks!

Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

Hi all! So glad I found you all. It's amazing how different our bodies react. I was sleeved on Nov. 19 and I'm just leaving the hospital today. Major pain and vomiting blood. Then I got a fever and my pulse rate was high. They were keeping me to make sure it wasn't because of the surgery. They did an upper GI and everything with surgery looks good. Have horrible diarrhea from stuff I had yo drink but other than that I feel much better and I am excited. Have to say I did have buyers remorse the first night and next day. I never heard those stories in my support group. It's good to know I want alone. Moving forward from here. God bless you all in your recovery.

Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

I am 9 hours from check in and I am nauseous and have horrible diarrhea. Please say a prayer for me that I'll be OK for tomorrow. I have waited so long for this day. I have been on high protein diet for past ten days and today was just liquids. Thinking I may have taken my pills on too much of any empty stomach. Any one else experience this? I feel like crying.

I'm on the 19th too and although I am excited I still have that same feeling you expressed....I hope I'm doing the right thing because there is no going back. I sure hope so! Best to you!

Check in: Week of Nov 17th Sleevers!

I am new to the group. I've been reading threads for awhile and found the info to be very helpful. After a very long process that started over a year ago, I am finally getting sleeved this Wednesday, Nov. 19. I am excited. I'm on my 9th day pre-op diet which seems to be getting more difficult instead of easier as they said it would but I am doing it! I feel determined and motivated for my life change. I have lupus, fibro and some other non-obesity related issues. A bit nervous that I may flare after the surgery but I'm pushing forward. Thanks to all for making this a safe haven. I wish you all much success.
