My name is Tawana, 32yrs young living in Sanferndo Vally,CA 25-30 mins outside of Los Angeles! and I'm currently going through the stages needed to become Sleeved and I'm needing some support and some encouragement going through this hole thing! I have done a year research on the gastric sleeve and know that this is the right healthy thing for me to do, I guess it just would feel better to be around others that have gone through or in the beginning stages like I am! I'm a mom of 3, and I've been over weight my hole adult life! So I'm truly ready for this life style change and my new journey to onederland!!!! Hope to hear from someone soon.

congratulations congratulations????????????????☝ u look so crute!!!! Oml.....u did that!!!! Ur inspirational. ....Man dwn!!!!! U give me hope! ???? good job!I reached my highest weight of 293lbs on January of this year. I was devastated and could no longer identify myself. I was obese, unhappy and pretty much depressed. After college I found myself so heavy and gain a over 100lbs since high school. I never would have thought it would have been me. I knew this surgery was my only way out. Understanding that it is just a "tool" I began working out, eating right and completely staying consistent with my plan. I have had some slip ups and the road was not easy, but to be down 100lbs and it has not even been a whole year is insane. I workout just about every day, the thought of not being able to work out makes me upset. So many people have noticed and I am getting compliments left to right. I have about 30 lbs to go and I will be at my goal. I am beyond excited to enter in the new year with a new attitude. This has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. If I can help or encourage anyone else please feel free to reach out. Best of luck to everyone and your journey

ur go go on a b fine huni!!! I speak positive! !!! I will most definitely keep u in my prayers ????. ..how was the liquid diet? I hve a nutrition I have to meet with for the next 5 months in order for my insurance to approve....so it's a process I must go through.....but it's for the better....hopefully I can learn some better eating habits???? congrats!!!! & Goodluck. ....keep us all posted!Hello everyone my name is Crystal and I have a surgery date with Dr Kim on Dec 1st! I will be having the sleeve and am so excited to start down a healthy road.
I've spent a lifetime obese and at 38 my body feels 58. I tried the insurance approval route a few times in my 20's but it just didn't work out. I had pretty much given up on the thought of surgery, but this year surgery became a necessity.
Turns out I have to have a major surgery on my spine. My surgeon said he didn't want to tackle it until I had bariatric surgery. There was to much risks involved with 326 lbs on a 5'2 frame. So we set out to find our options.
We approached my insurance carrier and were turned down. It's not that they didn't cover bariatric surgery, they just didn't cover employees until 5 years of service. Completely idiotic I know, but we all know how they view these "elective" surgeries. So we were on our own.
We had heard of Dr Kim having previously lived in the DFW for years. We then remembered a friend had had her sleeve through him. After speaking with her and hearing her glowing reviews I made an appointment. Dr Kim's office was wonderful. Knowing I was going to be a cash patient and how scary that was for me, they walked me through every possible finance and discount option. They even grilled my insurance to find what they could bill through them.
I started a liquid diet 7/11/14 and as of today am down 48 lbs. All of my preop tests are complete and now just waiting for my turn on the table.
I'm so excited to have found this community and look forward to sharing with and leaning from you.

After my coordinator meeting to go over all the paperwork, I will meet with the nutristionist for an hour then the therapist for an hour. The following Tuesday, I meet with the surgeon. I'm really excited and ready to get this ball a rollin'!
