    OVER 300 lbs

At my first consult I was 345 in July. At my appt before starting my 2wk pre op, I was 335. I gained about 10 lbs after my pre op appt because I ate stuff that I would miss or couldn't have for a while. The day of surgery, 9/29/14, I weighed 324. I am currently at 311, and I cannot wait to hit 299. I have no idea when the last time I was under 300. If I had to guess it would be 2003 or so. I'm very much looking forward to see where I go from here. My heaviest ever was 375 and that was last fall.
  5. I bought the petites too...not very petite for sure.
  6. I just had my 1st post op and I asked the same question. She recommended citrical gummies that you can get at WG

    OCTOBER 2014

LisaCO, you can do it. I am just 3 weeks post op, and I went to the movies Sunday. Usually I raise the arm rest to be more comfortable...not Sunday night. Just that little thing made me glad I had surgery. ????????

    Texas sleeve

    Texan here ????
  10. @@Jbramwell, I went through True Results with Dr. Nicholson at Baylor Surgicare. I have no pain except that pull they say we experience every now and again. I must have a high pain tolerance because as soon as I woke up they had me walking. I would say my surgery pain subsided by Wednesday of that week. I returned to work a week later. I have a desk job and my coworker was scheduled to have her surgery the day I got back. It's been really good. Today I went to the movies, and I was able to sit comfortably in the chair without raising an arm rest. It felt really really good.
  11. I was sleeved Sept 29th and went home 3 hrs after surgery. I'm healing well and the only pain I get is on my left side. Its bearable and annoying. I have lost 28lbs sine the beginning of preop. The past few days I have felt hungry, but I just try to think of the good things to come. I have until 10-20 before I can move on to pureed foods. ????
  12. I bought viactive chewable last night, but I read that anyone who has had surgery like us should stay away from calcium bicarbonate because it needs acid from stomach to activate and we won't absorb it as well as calcium citrate. Is that true?

Hello fellow Dallas sleevers. I had my sleeve on September 29th, and I'm doing well considering I'm still on liquids.

@@shmeyers, where can you buy the banana cream?

1 week post op protein intake issue

Oh I also do premiere chocolate shakes for breakfast. 30g already made to drink and you can get them at Sam's or Wal-Mart

1 week post op protein intake issue

Syntrax Nectar..,23gm protein and you can mix in water or skim milk/1% they have many flavors and I would suggest to go to mybariatricpantry.com and order a sample pack for 19.99. The wild grape and kiwi strawberry are good. They have a double creme cookie that mixed with milk taste like Oreos dunked in milk. The unjury. Unflavored protein is good too, I mix it with my broths and soups...not really a change in flavor. A scoop is 21gm protein. Good Luck!!

Need advice. Am I eating enough?

I'm where you are at. The most important thing right now is to drink 64oz of liquid and take in your protein. I do a premiere shake in the am. At lunch, I eat Campbell's soups that are condensed and when you add water it's thin enough. I only eat 30min. I drink a flavored syntrax which gives me 23g protein. At dinner, I do another broth or soup and add unjury unflavored protein to give me another 21g protein. You should be taking in probably 300-400 calories this 3 weeks of liquid. So, I think you are doing fine, but get your protein because it will make you full.
  19. I went to my first support group meeting, and it was very informative.

    anyone getting sleeved in DECEMBER?

At Baylor Hospital in Plano there is a support group that meets every 2nd Wednesday. They gave a clothes swap from 6-630, and then the meeting starts at 630. I'm going to the one tonight. I was sleeved last Monday, good luck December sleevers.

    Newbie and Sleeved

Rushunda, it's a struggle, but I know my mind has been hungry, but not my body. I like nectar by syntrax to mix with my water. You get 23g protein and so many flavors to choose from. I had a flavor of double stuffed cream cookies and added milk...it tasted like an Oreo cookie dipped in milk. You should look into that if you haven't.
  22. Hey everyone. I have enjoyed reading everyone's questions, answers and thoughts. I had my sleeve on 9/29/14, and I'm very excited to start the best part of this transformation. Good Luck to everyone that had made the decision to have surgery and to those who already have their dates set.
