Dallas, Texas Sleevers! !
Birdie77 replied to attractiveval's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Tahneesamson, I know there is one at Baylor Plano, 2nd wed of the month. I think Forest Park in North Dallas has one too, but don't know when. And those you just go to. -
It's awesome reading everyone's start to current weight. Very awesome. Good Luck everyone.

@@Idahospud, don't be disappointed. Look at where you are at now compared to back then. Everyone loses at different rates, hang in there it will happen.

At my first consult I was 345 in July. At my appt before starting my 2wk pre op, I was 335. I gained about 10 lbs after my pre op appt because I ate stuff that I would miss or couldn't have for a while. The day of surgery, 9/29/14, I weighed 324. I am currently at 311, and I cannot wait to hit 299. I have no idea when the last time I was under 300. If I had to guess it would be 2003 or so. I'm very much looking forward to see where I go from here. My heaviest ever was 375 and that was last fall.

Any sleevers from Dallas?
Birdie77 replied to healthychoice2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in Plano near Allen. 3 wks post op almost 4. -
LisaCO, you can do it. I am just 3 weeks post op, and I went to the movies Sunday. Usually I raise the arm rest to be more comfortable...not Sunday night. Just that little thing made me glad I had surgery. ????????

Whos in September? We need some September buddies!
Birdie77 replied to janie2024's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Jbramwell, I went through True Results with Dr. Nicholson at Baylor Surgicare. I have no pain except that pull they say we experience every now and again. I must have a high pain tolerance because as soon as I woke up they had me walking. I would say my surgery pain subsided by Wednesday of that week. I returned to work a week later. I have a desk job and my coworker was scheduled to have her surgery the day I got back. It's been really good. Today I went to the movies, and I was able to sit comfortably in the chair without raising an arm rest. It felt really really good. -

I was sleeved Sept 29th and went home 3 hrs after surgery. I'm healing well and the only pain I get is on my left side. Its bearable and annoying. I have lost 28lbs sine the beginning of preop. The past few days I have felt hungry, but I just try to think of the good things to come. I have until 10-20 before I can move on to pureed foods. ???? -
Calcium Supplements Help Needed
Birdie77 replied to 3in1wOL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought viactive chewable last night, but I read that anyone who has had surgery like us should stay away from calcium bicarbonate because it needs acid from stomach to activate and we won't absorb it as well as calcium citrate. Is that true? -

1 week post op protein intake issue

Syntrax Nectar..,23gm protein and you can mix in water or skim milk/1% they have many flavors and I would suggest to go to mybariatricpantry.com and order a sample pack for 19.99. The wild grape and kiwi strawberry are good. They have a double creme cookie that mixed with milk taste like Oreos dunked in milk. The unjury. Unflavored protein is good too, I mix it with my broths and soups...not really a change in flavor. A scoop is 21gm protein. Good Luck!! -
Need advice. Am I eating enough?
Birdie77 replied to unsupersizeme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm where you are at. The most important thing right now is to drink 64oz of liquid and take in your protein. I do a premiere shake in the am. At lunch, I eat Campbell's soups that are condensed and when you add water it's thin enough. I only eat 30min. I drink a flavored syntrax which gives me 23g protein. At dinner, I do another broth or soup and add unjury unflavored protein to give me another 21g protein. You should be taking in probably 300-400 calories this 3 weeks of liquid. So, I think you are doing fine, but get your protein because it will make you full. -
anyone getting sleeved in DECEMBER?
Birdie77 replied to taniamatts's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At Baylor Hospital in Plano there is a support group that meets every 2nd Wednesday. They gave a clothes swap from 6-630, and then the meeting starts at 630. I'm going to the one tonight. I was sleeved last Monday, good luck December sleevers. -
Rushunda, it's a struggle, but I know my mind has been hungry, but not my body. I like nectar by syntrax to mix with my water. You get 23g protein and so many flavors to choose from. I had a flavor of double stuffed cream cookies and added milk...it tasted like an Oreo cookie dipped in milk. You should look into that if you haven't.

Hey everyone. I have enjoyed reading everyone's questions, answers and thoughts. I had my sleeve on 9/29/14, and I'm very excited to start the best part of this transformation. Good Luck to everyone that had made the decision to have surgery and to those who already have their dates set.

Cathy, you should do Flintstones...I think u have to double them, but they are chewable
-
The past 2 days I've vomitted from these bariactiv multivitamins, so I took Flinstones...no problem at all.
