  2. I'm 3 days post op. Had to stay in the hospital an extra day because I coul keep anything down. , feeling better now, however still a lot of pressure when I sip on my fluids. So far no hunger at all, very thirsty but trying to work on my Fluid intake. Just wanted to give my perspective on things, feel free to ask any questions or give advice.
  3. i feel like most of you, if i gain the weight back, I have failed, not the surgery. The surgery is a tool. I am only 6 days post op, and that has been the toughest part thus far is knowing food isnt going to be a part of my life like it once was, and i wasnt the huge eater, i just had a very poor diet and would have 1 large meal a day, now i am going to have to make an "lifestyle" change and have way smaller meals several times a day, at this point i dont know if i can call them meals, we'll go with snacks. lol

    3 days post op

@@kpar9099, I ENVY YOU, i wish i could get that much liquid in, i honestly miss drinking so much Water, but if i drink to much i get the gas sensation that comes up my chest and feels like my ribs are being squeezed to death. it's only about 5-10 sec but it will happen 2 or 3 times, for first 10 mins. so i just try to continue to sip but its nowhere near 64oz, i/m getting about half of that on a good day.

Is the sleeve safe long term?

This is really good to read especially when you're 27 and had this surgery 6 days ago
  6. Hi! i was on the 13th, so hopefully don't mind me posting heh. I had a rough first few days, had to stay in the hospital an extra day , couldn't keep any liquids down the first day they started me on the liquids. Been very fatigue all week. I am the same, had to rely on family to do everything for me. I am still taking pain pills, but i have 2 bulging disk in my back and also had my gallbladder taken out monday during the sleeve procedure. So still quite sore, i have been getting about 30-35oz of liquids in, I see other people that are brave, courageous cause i havent even thought about eating, havent been hungry. Been mainly Water and this liquid Protein i have, which is like a super shot. its 42g in 3.8oz. I havent tried Jello or Protein shakes yet. I think i've had 2 Popsicle's thus far and i am 6 days out. I did have tea yesterday, that was a nice change up. waiting to try milk this week, want to take it slow and easy, especially since i'm not craving anything. Today has been a better day though, got out and walked outside, 2x 10 min walks in the neighborhood. Gonna try to add 5 mins per day to build up strength. this upcoming week i start on my Vitamins so hopefully that helps with alot of the fatigue etc. Hope everyone is recovery soon! Best of luck

Walking actually gave me a little energy boost. Don't overdo it, but a little moving helps you heal faster.

    3 days post op

@lesile65. I was saying the same thing about people returning to work after t or 6 days. More power to them. I also got my gallbladder taken out as well. Fluid intake has been better lately. I have been doing tea, Water and this Protein liquid. Haven't even tried Protein Powder yet. I get in about 30 oz of liquid in. That includes my protein. Could you share that YouTube video? I've literally been looking on social media all day about post op stuff ( should have been doing this before the surgery) but was scared it was gonna detract me from doing the surgery. I'm not a happy camper yet..more regret than happiness. Hopefully this changes soon. I haven't felt hungry at all. 6 days post op.

Thanks everyone. Anyone have any idea how long before I return to some what normal? I'd love to hear what people typically eat in a normal day post op...8 months down the road or longer.

      Who Dat 70461

The anxiety leading up to surgery was the worst part! I was ready for them to just get it on and be done with it! Time seemed to be going at half speed during this period, as well as the first few months post-op. Hang in there though, it'll be a distant memory before you know it. Now (17 months out) it seems like a lifetime ago! I pray the surgery is textbook and that you'll soon be cursing the nurses for waking every few hours to check you out and making you walk the halls! LOL

      Godspeed for a rapid recovery!

You will do fine. By day 2 I felt good. I was up and walking day one but sore.... Just remember follow all your doctors rules and get up and walk as soon as possible. It will keep complications down... will be thinking of you...

1 week post op protein intake issue

I have found a few things, our nutrition store sells things like hot chocolate, fruit drinks that are protein supplements. My favorite so far is "nectar" they have a lot of different favors. They are not as thick either, a lot smoother and easier to drink.
  16. Got confirmation today, surgery is Monday at 8am :-)
