@@chycky - I got sleeved at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, and they have a support group the third Thursday of every month from 7-8pm. September guest speaker is a plastic surgeon!

Be patient - you will keep losing. You'll have periods of time where it seems to have stopped, but have faith.

I had mine done there on Sept. 15, 2014, and have lost 69 pounds so far. It was not an easy or a pleasant surgery for me, but I think that's partly because I live alone and had no support. I highly recommend you have someone to help you out for at least a week. -

I go to a monthly support group meeting at the hospital (Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA), but I was thinking something once a week or once every other week would be good. I have not meet anyone else who has had this surgery, other than at the hospital support group. There must be lots of other people in Northern Virginia, not only patients of Dr. James Mayes or Dr. J. R. Salameh. But how do I find them, and find out if they are interested in starting a group? -

I think an offline (in person) support group for Northern Virginia would be a very good idea. How would we go about organizing one? I'm in Falls Church City. -

Taste buds changing possibly

I'm 3 weeks post-op, and nothing tastes good to me. I'm having real trouble getting in 3 small meals and 2 protein shakes, plus all the water. The protein shakes disgust me, too. I just can't seem to fit all the food in. I'm so weak and tired! I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow and I'm really questioning if I'm ready or not, and I only work part time. I even called the nutritionist today, who basically told me to just keep trying. Surgery date was Sept. 15th; I came home the evening of the 16th, but since I live alone and was in such pain I couldn't take care of myself. I became dehydrated and ended up back in the hospital for 5 days.
