what was your weight-gain pattern?
divaliciousdee replied to vinesqueen's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I started gaining in November of 96. I was diagnosed with Lupus and secondary scleroderma. Steroids, steroids, and more steroids. Plaquenil with all of it's side effects i.e vision impairment, hair loss, and depression because of all the pills. Gained 20lbs in 1 month! Gained an average of about 7lbs a month after. Woke up one day at 350lbs. Lost weight down to 336lbs. Had lapband surgery 9 years after diagnosis. Off of all meds for immune disorder. Life is grand! -
Hey Flower! I am 6 months out and I usually drink my breakfast. I have a yougurt smoothie. The Dannon lite and fit ones are good. I either have 1 or 2. On the days that I do not drink my breakfast I eat maybe 2 pieces of bacon or some fruit of some kind. I don't know if you are on the mushy stage or if you are at regular food yet. Sometimes I eat soup for breakfast. Everyone is different. Hope this helps. I don't eat scrambled or boiled eggs at all anymore because I ate it ALL the time on the mushy stage. I do LOVE egg drop soup though YUM!

Auto-immune Disease and Band Rejection
divaliciousdee replied to Amanda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OKay I am six months post-op. SO far so good! I have Lupus with secondary scleroderma. Could I have a flare up? Yes. I have felt 2000% better since surgery. No problems at all. I informed my surgeon of my ailments( I don't use the word disease) he checked with my Rheumatologist and they BOTH decided this was gonna do wonders for me. I have lost 46 pounds in six months. My body is doing what I want it to do instead of what my ailments dictate. I am happy for my band. I wouldn't change a thing. If I have erosion or rejection at least I will have it -46lbs or -100lbs post op. -

divaliciousdee replied to Jessiebear's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hey anyone tell me how to do the scale at the bottom of your posts ?? Just click on the link above the scales. tickerfactory and go to the weightloss tracker and follow the directions. The tricky part is picking the right link at the end to paste to your user signature. after you have the link copied go to your user cp at the top of the LBT page and edit signature. paste the link in your signature. Hope this helps. -
In Perspective...BLESSINGS
divaliciousdee replied to DevilMayKare's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kare you always brighten my day! You and my mother have definitely found the fountain of youth. I told her you were 50 and she said and I quote 'I would have thought she was about 34 or 35. My mother is 57 and she really does look like she is about 39 or 40. I just pray that I have those genes. So far I can pass for 30. I will take it. Thanks again for the life check. I am truly blessed. -
Hey Ms. Vicki congrats on the band date!! I started out at 336lbs the day of banding. On the 28th of this month(a day after you get banded) it will be my 6 months bandiversary. "First Bite Syndrome" ???
divaliciousdee replied to divaliciousdee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Donali we were posting at the same time LOL Thanks. I am gonna do that drink something warm. My lunch breaks at work are only 30 minutes so after I warm up what I have to eat and finally sit down I have about 25 minutes to eat. I have most of my "episodes" at work on my lunch break. -
"First Bite Syndrome" ???
divaliciousdee replied to divaliciousdee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I try well I think I am chewing good but you may be right about the smaller bites. I notice when I have an "episode" I am alot more cautious about the size and my chewing. I think I need to probably drink something warm about 30 minutes before I eat maybe it will loosen me up. -

ANother Here. I was 336 the day of surgery. I have lost 46lbs so far and it will be 6 months on Feb. 28. I am loving my band. Wouldn't change it fort nothing. I think that maybe your surgeon is saying RNY because of faster results. Some of the bandsters lose at almost the same rate as RNY from some of the postings I have read. I know you will be happy with your decision to have the band. The best thing for me is I think that with the band you are not gonna have as much skin to deal with after you lose all of the weight. With proper exercise and weight resistance training we can get a better hold of the excess skin problem because the weightloss is gradual and not so extreme. :peace:

I did it!!!! 50 lbs gone!!!!!!
divaliciousdee replied to Dianechef's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah! What she said. Mary you took the words write out of my typing hands. It is hard to lose 10lbs and 50lbs is great. So many of us have been in the background because of our weight. To lose that amount and be proud and say I did it is GREAT!! Diane you ARE NOT boasting. In the words of my 89 year old granddaddy "it is a po' frog that don't praise his own pond". Can I get an AMEN!!! :peace: -

HOpe you feel better. Be careful about the creams. I was burned once( not by a tanning bed lol ) but in a house fire second and third degree on my back. I found that wearing light cotton shirts(white ones) helped with the pain because clothes hurt burns. Try to wera light cotton fabrics while you are recooperating. Drink water too. God Bless!

:happybday2: God Bless and enjoy!!

OKay it is obvious that the money is spent. He probably was so excited about having the $200 extra bucks he couldn't see straight. He might of thought you slipped. LOL So with that said next check give him just enough for a beer and some peanuts. Go buy you something fabulous. Get the hair , nails, and toes done. WHen he gets home dress up and go somewhere all dolled up. Even if it is just to the movies or to dinner with your girlfriends. When he asks you where are you going tell him oh it's Valentine's Day and I have plans. LOL LOL

Thanks Betje! You have a great Valentines Day yourself!!! HAPPY VALENTINES"S DAY EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :kiss2: :kiss2:
