Extra charge for ordering from kids menu...anyone else run into this?
little_mrs replied to Lani789's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Order from the main menu and have them box half of it before it comes to the table. I'd never ask to order from a kids menu, I'm not a child -
Use a colored dry shampoo on your roots and scalp to match your hair!! It does wonders!!!

My dr said three meals a day ,no snacking. But I've read about a number of people who are having a slice of cheese or a little yogurt in between and are doing great because it helps keep their calories up to lose weight. ( ex. Too few calories and you might stall) I would not be opposed to a small healthy snack even if it's once a day. Do you snack?

How much time off from work?
little_mrs replied to Dualstarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a desk job and went back after 3 weeks. Besides the pain easing with time you need to take into account being comfortable after eating, and drinking. Also fatigue is pretty rough especially in the beginning. -
Couple of Questions...
little_mrs replied to xAnastrianax's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the hospital two nights after Rny. Went back to my desk job in 3 weeks. It's not only a matter of pain control with going back to work. You need to be comfortable after eating and drinking. Fatigue is also very rough in the beginning. I don't think a matter of days is sufficient at all for any type of job. It is a major surgery. -
Omg, the iron! Ugh my poor stomach. I can't bring myself to take the 3 tablets a day. 2 is my max! It makes me queasy and icky and constipated. How is everyone else handling the iron? I'm ok with all the other supplements so far.

Iron supplement.. ????

That's great only one a day, does that help with stomach irritation? -
How often does.bypass not work?? How do people sabotage it? I'm 3 weeks out, lost 22 pounds but not much at all this past week. I feel so satisfied after eating I feel like I could be a an unsuccessful story. I don't know what happened to my optimism, but I don't have it and I don't know why. I'm so scared of what it doesn't work??

Does bypass ever not work?
little_mrs replied to little_mrs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are right, I need to stay focused and not over analyze. I've read mixed things about weigh ins too. I've been weighing myself everyday which can be discouraging. Some people seem to do weekly or even monthly. What are you plans for weigh ins? -

Ok that's good to know. But do you ever wonder what if I just don't lose or wonder if you won't reach your goal? I need to get out of this negativity, I know..I've always doubted myself with weight loss -
What is the average weight loss per week?
little_mrs posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've heard that you lose the most the first 3 to 6 months and then it slows down. I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow. First week I lost 16 pounds and the second week 6..good but quite a difference. I know everyone one is different but just wondering what to expect from here on out. 6 pds a week? Less? -
I'm 6 weeks out. How many of you gastric bypass people dump?
little_mrs replied to brown eyed gal's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Same here!! -
Since you started snacking, have you realized any changes in how much you lose?

What is the average weight loss per week?
little_mrs replied to little_mrs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With having so many people know about the surgery, friends, family and co workers. I feel they are all waiting to see if I can do it. Maybe the pressure of that is why I feel like I do. -
What is the average weight loss per week?
little_mrs replied to little_mrs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is wonderful! Congratulations on your success! I guess I try to compare to see if im doing it right. I have a huge fear that the weight will stop coming off and I won't be a success story. Which I never ever felt before the surgery or even after losing 22 pounds so far. I have no clue why I feel that way, but I do. ???? I'm very excited for spring and summer, seeing as I should have "something to show for "all that I've gone thru so far.. -

Thank you that is a wonderful answer and makes perfect sense. Thank you so much and I will keep that in mind on my journey ???? -
food has 2 much control over me !
little_mrs replied to ladylace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel the same way, I am 13 days post op. They say the pouch is the size of an egg, but when i measure out my food in the 1/4 measuring cup it looks like a lot! For example for lunch I just had 1/3 cup cod and 1/4 cup mashed advocado. I feel comfortably full , but on the plate looks much larger than what would fit in a egg. So worried i will have slow weight loss or it won't work for me. I've already lost 22 lbs BUT I just started eating regular puréed foods, ie yogurt cottage cheese turkey etc.. I just want to do it right -
Almost 2 weeks post op and sooo hungry
little_mrs posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 2 weeks post op made myself eat the first week. And now almost two weeks out I am so hungry in between meals. This morning I had 1/4 cup cottage cheese. A half our later a small glass of orange juice with protein powder. And lunch a piece of deli turkey with a thin slice a of cheese (chewed until mush). This is not head hunger, I am genuinely very hungry and can not wait to eat dinner which will be a small amount of cod. Is it really a good idea to go so hungry inbetween or should I have a sugar free pudding or something in between. I know snacks are a big no no so I haven't done it. Not sure how to handle this. -
Name something strange and super unhealthy that you used to eat before weight loss
little_mrs replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in Food and Nutrition
Anything super cheesy.. I'd put tostito chips on a baking sheet with big hunks of cheese on them and pop them in the oven. The strangest maybe, putting lunch meat like ham or turkey on a plate and covering it with shredded cheese and melting it together in the microwave.... So yummy.. I already miss that -
Eating Mcdonalds, twinkles, 64 oz cokes, smoking, binge drinking, and knocked up 2 weeks post op!
little_mrs replied to bellabloom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find no humor in this either. Very offensive and done in poor taste -
I'm scheduled for RNY 11/18, and before today have not read about so many rough recoveries! I'm actually quite worried about it. I was wondering what the average back to work time is? I do have a desk job and was hoping 2-3 weeks

3 days post op and it still doesn't feel real...
little_mrs replied to ilana612's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 days post op and I have the same feeling, of wow did I really do this?! I am too sleeping best propped up on the couch. Laying is ok, but I can't the whole night. I wake up way to sore. Good luck to you! -
Please share you favorite protein shake
little_mrs posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 5 days post op and have starting drinking chocolate protein shakes. I now bought almond milk to mix it in and just ordered PB2 peanut butter flavored protein off amazon which I've heard is ammmazing with the chocolate. Just like a Reese's cup.,very excited to get that! What are you favorites?! ???? -
I'm 5 days post op and having puréed food. Not all the time tho, I also have broth, yogurt and cottage cheese. So far tolerating everything and down 11 pounds. I am much more comfortable sitting than laying. Each day is getting a little better.
-
In the hospital I had Apple juice and jello only when I tolerated it. Came home and had cottage cheese twice a day and plenty of fluids. Today I had a protein shake, plenty of water and had 1/4cup cr soup for my first meal, 1/4 cup puréed chicken salad for my second. And a piece of deli turkey with a piece of cheese rolled up and chewed til it was mush. I also had a sugar free Popsicle in between. Now that the day is done it seems like a lot to me. Is that a lot to have for post op day 4? My guide says no, but my mind is thinking wow that's a big change from the other days. Do you think I'm over doing it?!
