    Ladies....

My bariatric program said at least 75 grams and preferably over 100 grams. Bariatric programs want to achieve good numbers for their program. Best results and least complications etc. Following those guidelines helps get them their numbers and better health for patients yes, if a person chooses to do more to get to optimal health that's an individual's choice to make. Exactly. Surgeons are giving us the bare minimums to meet to keep the surgery from wreaking havoc on our bodies. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Ladies....

Here is some great info. Not bariatric specific. Our surgeries are a tool, we are still human and should nourish our bodies properly. This link will help you calculate how much Protein based on who you are, what you do and what your goals are. Getting skinny doesn't always equal getting healthy. You'll drop weight faster eating less protein and do terrible things to your body. Building and maintaining lean muscle mass, losing the fat, getting in great cardiovascular health and getting your bodies functioning to the best they possibly can is what we need to strive for. http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet/how-much-protein-per-day/ Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Ladies....

Not getting enough Protein is terrible for your body especially post bypass. You would eat the protein equal to a healthy goal weight. No one should have a goal weight of 250 unless they are a taller man. Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Ladies....

Shoot for as many grams of Protein per day as your goal weight. 150 pounds=150 grams per day etc... Sent from my SM-G900V using the BariatricPal App

    Low heart rate

If you have been doing a lot of cardio a resting heart rate in the 40's or 50's is quite possible and a good thing. Basically you have strengthened your heart muscle so much it doesn't have to work as hard as it used to when you are resting. Mine is the same mid fifties and sometimes the 40's when I sleep. I usually do 6-7 miles on the elliptical over the course of an hour, 3-4 days a week. Along with the lower resting heart rate another effect of heavy cardio is your total cholesterol may be higher. Your good cholesterol can increase quite a bit which can raise your overall number, which is why your ratio is more important than your total cholesterol. Keep up the good work. http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Conditions/More/MyHeartandStrokeNews/All-About-Heart-Rate-Pulse_UCM_438850_Article.jsp#mainContent

    Under clothing question

I just recently ordered a latex waist cincher, it holds all the loose skin/flabby tummy in tight and smooth. I'd totally recommend it. It's awesome to have something that shapes you incredibly and you don't have to pull up and down to use the bathroom.

    Birth control pills before surgery

As long as you don't smoke you should be perfectly fine. I'm on Nuvaring while not a pill, is still same hormones. Had no issues at all. You definitely don't want to risk pregnancy until after you are at a stable healthy weight.

    funny, but serious, female question...lol

Noooooooooo!!!! dont say that!!!! my back cant handle me being a freaking G. I was a DDD already before I got fat. If you were a DDD before you got fat you will most likely get back to a DDD. May not be as perky as the DDD you remember but you'll get your original size back.

    funny, but serious, female question...lol

I'm 80 pounds down and haven't lost any cup sizes, still in a F/G cup. I've always been busty though. I've heard that if you were busty prior to putting on weight you have mostly breast tissue and you're not going to lose much up there, however if you became bustier while gaining weight you will most likely lose boobage because the added size was mostly fat. Based on my experience not losing any cups, this seems to ring true for my situation. Definitely a different experience for different ladies. Myself, I'm just going to keep working out my pecs to try to minimize sagging and hope I'm happy with that. I wish all of you ladies luck with with whatever it takes to be satisfied with our new bodies. It's great to have all of you here sharing and supporting each other. For some, myself included, this is the ONLY support we have. So blessed to have you all.

Waiting on approval from BCBS of IL

I arranged my clearances all on the same day as my surgery consult. They got my results in a day, sent to insurance the same week as well and was approved in a day by insurance. A lot of these surgeons go on vacations around the holidays so be pushy if need be and get it taken care of. If I were you I'd talk to the insurance and know their exact requirements, do those asap to get approved. If the doc has additional stuff he wants you can just get those before the surgery date.

I had my sleeve done at silver cross in new lenox with BMI surgery. They are a center for excellence and I am very happy with them. I'm not a big fan of Loyola. Are they a center for excellence?

I have bcbsil/anthem they approved mine in one day with High bmi psych pulmonary and cardio clearance. Make sure your surgeon office has sent it, they should approve it super fast.

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

I still do the protein shakes (they are covered by my insurance) as well as high protein foods. I've read that when working out you should shoot for your daily grams of protein to equal your goal weight. I get a minimum of at least 100 grams a day and up to 170 grams per day. I've been working out hard trying to build as much lean muscle and burn off as much fat as I can, doing high intensity cardio and heavy high intensity weight training. I've lost 80 pounds since surgery, I know it would be more without the intense weight training, but I know the lean muscle will help me in many ways. My doctor is very happy with my results so far and my labs are awesome. I don't have a specific goal weight since that depends heavily on the amount of lean muscle I have. I'm 5'10" with a large frame/body type. I'm happy to hear everyone is doing so well and interested in chatting further in depth with anyone that's also including high intensity cardio and weight training in their journey.
