    Just getting started...

Move forward without looking back. Never mind what others may think. This about you and your opportunity to change your health for better times. Try not to get discouraged. It took many of us months to work through the medical and insurance obstacles.
  2. Thank you. I hope I wake and experience little to no pain.

    Less than 24hrs !

Congrats your now a sleever! Sound like gas is your biggest problem. No issues with sipping the liquids or incisions. My surgery is coming up soon and it seems the gas problem is the most problematic for those unlucky to wake with the pain. Take care and let us know what seemed to work best on the gas pain.

    10 days until surgery!

We share the same surgery date of 10/30. Sounds like you've been working hard dropping weight to align with your upcoming surgery date. I'm so proud of you. My pre op diet is doing fairly well. I applaud all of the October group who are also raising kids and traveling this journey. Mine are all adults so I don't have to prepare meals for anyone.

    My progress

So proud of you staying with the program. You look great. What is your go to favorite healthy snack?
  6. DITTO!! Maybe we'll be the ones with miraculous post surgery woes since we are whacko about the operation beforehand.

    Two Days Till I'm Sleeved

Make sure to check back in with us after your sleeved. Great job on losing lbs on the pre op. I'm not seeing weight loss. A lot of water retention and fatigue.
  8. Wow. There are loads of us feeling the pre-op diet crazees along with being apprehensive about the upcoming surgery. I bounce back and forth between being excited about being able to redirect my life journey for health and full out, freak scared moments. We'll all get through this and appreciate the precious time we have recaptured having surgery.

Just had surgery. Things I learned

I was wondering how I was going to take medication. Thanks everyone.
  10. Thank you. Your post has helped me tremendously. I will probably come back to it several times up to my surgery. And I'll remember post surgery to feel lucky to have made a change in my life no matter the outcome.

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

Please send me an invite to FB debychapman@gmail.com My surgery is scheduled for 10/30. I'm beginning to rage and howl at the moon because I'm so scared. I've been following along reading the posts and have responded a few times. Is there anyone else out there that began to fall apart like me. I'm breathing but pretty well crazymaking these past few days.

    Just sleeved

My sleeve surgery is scheduled for 10/30 in Everrett WA. I did quite a bit of research over the past few years and a short 4 hour flight from Alaska would make a lot of difference if I were having any difficulty. My husband and I fly out on Monday and I will me my surgeon (Dr Kauffman) for the first time. We've spoken over the phone but haven't met directly. I looked his practice and checked his track record through AMA. Starting the worrywart part that others have stated feeling too just before surgery. Thank you all for sharing. I will be tapping into the Oct sleevers more often from pre and post surgery. I'm enjoying Ideal Protein products both sweet and savory. They much more flavorful than the Unjury brand. Are the other Oct 30 scheduled sleevers out there?

    Who Are You?

Hello October sleevers. I'm scheduled for 10/30 and will begin my pre-op plan beginning tomorrow. I've been out crawling through the past posts and have traveled the journey via blog with several of you now post sleevers. If I could only take one item with me to the hospital what would suggest. I'm traveling from Alaska with only a small bag so what I pack has to count. Are there other 10/30 sleevers out there?
  14. I considered surgery several years ago but didn't follow through. Thought I could try (again) to lose the weight on my own. Got part way there and stalled out due to a back injury. Had the necessary back surgery and am now ready to take the next step in taking my life back. I have a surgery date of 10/30.
  15. Will NOT miss: asking for help putting on socks and lace shoes. Won't miss diabetes and daily insulin shots.

    Food panic attack

Its a horrible head hunger game. My pre-op diet starts on 10/17 and I'm already fighting the demons and personal crazy making thoughts about being a failure at dieting. I wish my physician considered the three day prep as noted by another blogger. I'm using mediation and biofeedback to calm myself. Wish it was my surgery date so I stop being a worry wart and nay sayer too.
  17. I'm using bio-feedback and mediation as part of my journey tools with the help of my therapist. My surgery is still several weeks out there but wanted to begin working on my head hunger. Emotional eating is a natural response for those of us who have been stuffing our thoughts and emotions for years. I've begun peeling back layers and testing my vulnerability with close family and friends. More importantly I'm beginning a new relationship with myself and trying to find my true thoughts and feelings.
  18. Appreciate your posts. All of them. I'm normally a optimistic person. However, as my sleeve date gets closer (10/30) i become more and more dramatic about the "what if" happens. I've done my homework and know that any surgery can have consequences. Working closely with my therapist to "breathe" through and "tap" through my own personal crazeee. Looking forward to the other side and being able to tie my shoes and live a healthy life without insulin. Hanging in there too!
