Hahaha....yes that is normal. Took me about 4-5 days after being home from the hospital before having a bowel movement. It was a great feeling when it finally happened because then I knew everything was hooked up and working properly.

I am currently 20 days out from my surgery that I had on Oct 8th. I have had no complications and feel absolutely amazing. But yes, the 2 week liquid diet at the beginning before surgery was brutal for the first few days. After you get through the first 3 days it gets way easier as your body and mind adjust. ' Do NOT cheat. These doctors are not screwing around. My Dr. has sewn people back up on multiple occasions after finding food in their stomach on the operating table. It is tough, but very much worth it. I am just now starting to introduce soft mushy foods to my diet and it is like I am eating for the first time all over again. This will be the best decision you have ever made for your life and your health. Don't let something as small as a short term liquid diet ruin your chances of a better life. Remember that it is only temporary. Best of luck to everyone. Love and light

I am a 37 year old male in Charlotte, NC, and I am 48 hours away from having RNY surgery. I am a type 2 with moderately high blood pressure. After 25 years of yo-yo dieting and being obese/morbidly obese my whole life, I am about to embark on the journey to good health. I have done a mountain of research and I am at peace with my decision, no matter the results. I have no shame in admitting that I need help in this one area of life. Being that me health hinges on the results of my choices, I can no longer allow myself to risk doing it on my own. One of my best friends lost 140 lbs on this same procedure 3 years ago and it entirely changed his life for the better. I am excited. Thank you sir! How does it feel being 130 lbs lighter? I can only barely wrap my mind around it, but from what I am told it will be a reality that I never thought possible. Any advice for a guy less than 24 hrs away from surgery?
