Anyone have regrets?
Sugar free replied to crissylynn82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree, it's normal. I felt the same way after surgery and at eight weeks post op now, I am just to the point where I DO NOT regret it! You'll be just fine. Time time time! Remember why you wanted it? Hold on and you to will say ....boy I'm so glad I had it done!!! -
I wish I could relate. First....pee or poop? If it's peeing, good! Water is flushing the fat out of your tissue. I don't drink enough that's my problem. I pee two maybe three times a day.

Hello everyone. I had my gastric slevectomy on Dec 3. I was very gung-ho about the possibility of having this awesome opportunity until I went to the orientation. I came home and cried. I was NOT having this done. It was more than what I was ready for. I mean come on, no more tacos??? Well I have a great supporting family and they reminded me of the reason I wanted it in the first place. I did have the surgery and I can't say that it has been easy, by far not easy. But everyday gets a bit easier and I see remarkable changes in my weight. I started at 280 lbs and today at 214. I have to say one thing... I still have very little energy even though I am working and when I can exercise. I'm working on that as much as I can. Just a thought.....I can buy a new small size swim suit for summer!!!!

Great Hunny! I find it strange to see so many different post op programs through different doctors. I see people doing liquid diets for two weeks preop and people drinking protein shakes postop. I went through Kaiser Permanente which is a huge medical foundation. My doctor had me do a low cal low fat high protein diet right up to surgery and no protein shakes because of the cal. It has work very well. BUT I did order protein replacement powder drink and won't tell my doctor. I do one shake a day and that's working well too. And still losing weight. My energy is starting to come back.

Surgery tomorrow!
Sugar free replied to jerseymami1988's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on this major decision. Everything will work out because we have gone through it already. Me...7 weeks ago. I lost 30 before surgery and so far 36 since dec 3. You will question your decision after the surgery but be reassured... You DID make the right choice! Good luck -
Weight loss has stopped - HELP !
Sugar free replied to ETirpak's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I also stalled but at about 4-5 weeks only for about 5 days. I was told to drink drink drink. I was not drinking enough water. My doctor told me to weigh everyday!! That will keep you on track and it does. If I don't drop a lb that day then I know it was because I drank less water the day before. I weigh every morning. I'm 7 weeks post op and down a total of 67 lbs. following my pre op diet I had lost 30 and post op so far 36. Good luck and keep focused on the WATER. -

Thank you everyone. I do take B Complex as prescribed by my Dr. I know in days and weeks to come it will all be OK! My food intake....1/4 cup and I am so hating meat. Fish is tolerable if I can get creative with seasonings. I can finally eat eggs. Good luck to everyone. We will ALL be gorgeous in the end. Knock outs!!!

Just general pre-surgery weight loss, and I'm already stalling!
Sugar free replied to Shell88's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi everyone. My name is Tami and I too am dieting to lose some weight prior to surgery. My first surgeon appt is this Monday Oct 13. What should I expect at this appt? My three and only three meals a day is working great. Been very nervous about having the surgery but my girls have calmed my fears and I'm on board now with hopes of a brighter and lighter future.
