Surgery officially scheduled!
Henry'sMommy replied to Henry'sMommy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I forgot to also say that I too cried on the way to the operating room. The whole thing was scary. As they wheeled me into the operating room the anisthesiologist asked me how I was doing. I was like, "well, I'm here." Lol -
Insurance approved me last week so my surgery is scheduled for December 9. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that it's finally happening! I'm excited and scared and nervous and a whole range of emotions depending on when you ask me! Anybody else got the pre-op jitters?

Surgery officially scheduled!

Bkchick88 congrats to you! The first few days were the worst, so keep on keepin on! It gets better! For me right now, the worst part is that I won't get a fill for 2 more weeks and I don't really feel any restriction at all. I felt restriction for about 10 days but now that the swelling has gone down, I cant eat nearly as much as I used to, but I am feeling the hunger. I am anxious to get my fill! Keep in touch! -

Recommended vitamin/mineral supplements and protein shake brands?
Henry'sMommy posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The vast selection of vitamins, minerals, and protein shakes is overwhelming to me. Is it worth the extra money to purchase brands specifically for bariatric surgery patients? What brands do you use? What protein shakes are the best? -
Much more confident and excited about my decision to have WLS!
Henry'sMommy posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just joined bariatricpal today and I have to say, after reading through several posts I am much more confident and excited to get my band. I have finished all the preliminary testing required by my surgeon and so now it is the waiting game for my insurance company to approve me. I had been questioning my choice to have the band. Everyone seemed to be pushing me to get the sleeve, but I just didn't like the idea of removing 75% of my stomach as well as many other reasons. After reading through several threads, I am now 100% confident this is right for me. I am looking forward to using this forum as a tool to help me be successful in my lap band journey!
