    Constantly feel band

Greetings and Salutations! I was banded 10/19/07. 1st week I had constant chest pain when i went for my post op visit the MD removed about .8cc of residual Fluid and I had relief right away. HOWEVER, now the "pressure" "pain" is back on and off. I can relate to the comment "weight loss by choke chain". I came to the boards hoping someone would tell me that this will go away - that it's just the healing recovery period that you feel the band. If this doesn't go away I may be one of those post band people. I'm down 20lbs already but have to force myself to eat. I don't want to slow my metabolism down so I make sure I eat at least three meals a day. Usually egg for Breakfast, yogurt for lunch, and chicken salad for dinner. Not getting anywhere near 60 grams of Protein a day but I'm trying. Don't do well with liquids as they seem to increase the gas. Found I do better with hot liquids then cold. Just wish there was someone who could tell me that they had real crappy experience at first but it got much much better. Katie

    Reflux Poll

Hi I'm new bandster diagnosed with GERD/Reflux pre surgery. Banded 10/30/07 and the GERD IS SEVERE post surgery. Went for my first pre op visit yesterday and they removed 1cc of residual Fluid which gave me some relief. Had a CONSTANT knot in my chest which is gone now. HOWEVER the GERD - severe pressure radiating to ears (no it's not a heart attack that's my GERD Symptoms - had cardiac cath/stress test when it first happen which were normal - that's how GERD was diagnosed). If this doesn't get better I'll be one of those former bandsters beacuse this sucker will be OUTTA here! Thanks for letting me vent. Katie

    NJ November Thread

Greetings and Salutations! New to the boards, new to banding - Got Banded 10/30/07 at Atlantic City medical Center (Atlanticare now). Was having A LOT OF CHEST PAIN - GAS turns out there was Fluid in my band from the flushing. MD removed 1 cc today at post op visit and it's a miracle. THANKS GOD I was ready to say TAKE THIS THING OUT! So where does everyone live? I'm in Ocean County work in Atlantic County - that's how I ended up at ARMC for the surgery. Lost 11 lbs so far WOO HOO Look forward to getting to know you all Katie
  7. Turns out there was fluid in my band and when the MD removed it the pain went instantly away! WOO HOO! WHAT A REFLIEF!
  8. I was banded 10/29 6 days ago and the pain in my chest is bad too. I'm taking lots of gas x without much relief. I go to the MD tomorrow for post surgical check up. Hope this goes away it's horrid.

    Anybody in South Jersey

Just got banded Monday by Dr. Onopchenko from Atlanticare Regional Medical Center (Atlantic City) Great program!! Lots of pre op support they have you go through a Pre Op "Boot Camp". Nutrition Visits are required pre op and post op. Support Groups are there too. Great program.
  10. 5 days post op. My surgeon rules are first 3 days clear liquids next 4 days full liquids, week mushies, week soft, then regular.
  11. Greetings and Salutations. I'm 5 days post op. Lots of gas pain and pressure. Surviving. Honestly, couple days ago I was wondering WHAT THE HECK DID I DO TO MYSELF? But it's a tool. I'm hoping this constant pressure will go away. Gas X is my friend and from what I read will be for awhile. My diet progression is a lot more liberal than what I've seen. 3 days clear 4 days full then puree for a week, soft for a week, then regular. I think I'm going to go slower though. I'm 5'6" 270 lbs pre surger down 10lbs already - but that's expected eating only Water and chicken broth. Well look forward to sharing with everyone. Katie
