ashemademe posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I I started walking 2 weeks after surgery. I started basic squats and lunges 5 weeks after. I started weights at about 8 weeks. Now I do Swallow Cliff in Palos Hills IL once a week. It's 125 stair up and I do them about 7x up and down. I continue to challenge myself, May 30th I'm doing a 5k. -
6 months ago...November banders..
ashemademe replied to briefs199's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgery date was 11/14/14. So far I lost 51 pounds 11 in the preops. Still struggling with chewing, its a reflex action mostly. Exercise at least 2-3 times a week. I need to get that number up. I have had 3 fills and my band is a about 6 oz but I have good restriction and not ready for another fill. For April I only lost about 2 pounds but mostly because I started drinking iced coffee with the warm weather coming in. I know better know switching to iced tea with splenda. -
Saturday I walked up Swallow Cliff 5x which is 125 up stairs.

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to share, I am 1 month out since surgery and today I hit a total 30 pound lost. That's 20 pounds preops and 10 pounds since the band. I currently eat around 1200 calories a day and I do 2 (30min) workouts a day for 5 days a week.

2 weeks since surgery and not hungry
ashemademe posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I had my surgery 11/10 and right now I am on mushy food. In the mornings I have a Protein shake, snack Greek yogurt and lunch tuna and Soup. Some nights I have a little baked fish. But honestly I don't think about food at all. My doctor wants me to have my first fill on 12/5 and I am scared of the tightness. Do you think I show postpone it until I start feeling hungry? -
I think I may have went back to work too early. My biggest cut kinda hurts, mostly because I picked up a grocery bag. I know very stupid on my part. So far my hungry is not too bad. Between shakes and tuna or baked fish I get up to about 800 calories a day.

I was banded on 11/10 at Day One by Dr. Ellie. Surgery was a lot quicker than I thought. I also had my hernia repaired so the healing is taking a little longer.

I can honestly say up until I started my preops diet, I still had doubt about getting banned. The diet taught me that I am ready. I now realize I can make I off less food than I thought. Why was I so afraid of being hunger, after all hunger is in the head. I am on day 9 of preops and 15 pounds down. I learned that after the surgery, after the healing process when I can eat again. I can do this! I am ready mentally and that's the biggest part of being successful.

ashemademe replied to swankybangles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am getting banded on Monday 11/10. Right now I am surviving on Atkins Protein shakes, strawberry is my favorite. I am little nervous but still excited. I also live in Illinois the Chicagoland area. -

Brown eyes I bought Alex Brecher book The Big Book on Lap band off amazon. It is a very good read. Maybe it will help with the hunger, protein is the key.
