Mashed potatoes stuck on sleeve
Addawn replied to matos08's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm two weeks out and I am able to eat soft foods including eggs, eggs salad, chicken and tuna salad as well as soft cooked veggies and pureed fruit. The only time I have an issue is if I eat to much or too fast. -
Didn't loose as much as I thought I would at this point .....
Addawn replied to Jennifer4775's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date was 1/27. I lost 17lbs before surgery and 9 since. Steady is what I'm looking for, as long as the scale is going down every time I step on it I am a happy girl! -

It could be either you need to drink more or you are not getting enough protein...or a combination of both. I'm 15 days out, I don't get as much hungry as my energy starts to bottom out and I know I need something.

I initially took two weeks off, then opted to telework for 2. I only took off 1 week and am teleworking for 3. I want to get over the digestive issues (the runs) and be tolerating solid food before I go back.

5 days post sleeve surgery---water diarrhea
Addawn replied to hollisrn76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had that too! It gets much better, I still have it on occasion (as they say, Never trust a fart LOL) but not nearly as much. On of my friends had surgery 3-years ago, she assures me it will stop completely. -

I'm so happy for you!!! You are doing GREAT!!! I am using Genepro unflavored protein, 1 small scoop has 30 grams of protein and you can put it in anything including coffee and soups. I mix it in pudding as well. -
I expected to be miserable but I feel great!! I'm kind of amazed! I hope the rest of you are doing this well ????

I was supposed to, but I have problems with artificial sweetner so I bought Genepro. Its flavorless so I can mix it with anything, I really, like it.

You may want to step back to liquids for a couple of days, then try soft food again. My husband had to do that. your tummy may not be ready for soft food yet. -

What do you mix your protein with?
Addawn replied to Marisa1972's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my favorite tastes like a Mint Chip Milkshake. I use 3/4 c Skim or 1% Milk, teasp. of coco powder (more if you want more chocolate) a couple of drops of mint extract, unflavored protein powder, and about 6 ice cubes. I put it in my ninja mixer...yum!! I look forward to it! -
I'm on my third day of Pre-Op, it sucks but not as bad as I thought. I have three protein shakes per day, a cup of light soup for lunch, and veggies (1 c. cooked 2c. raw) for dinner. I'm glad I have a ninja, I can make some really good shakes with it!

Anyone else on a foodie farewell tour? I've been on one since I got my date (1/27) I think I've gained 10lbs! On on my last few days, my pre op starts Tuesday. This is madness!

Why Did You Choose Your Specific Type of Weight Loss Surgery?
Addawn replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I picked the gastric sleeve because I have severe Ulcerative Colitis and my Gastro and Surgeon thought it was the best option. -
A good many of you have far more restraint then me. I enjoyed the holidays with its feeding frenzy...of course I gained 15lbs.
