  1. I'm still going through my weigh ins, have two left. I'm worried because I'm gaining weight. Is this normal?
  2. I'm just curious does anyone know the purpose of the weigh ins? I have three remaining and not sure if I'm suppose to be losing weight during this time. What would happen if I gain weight?

    Cpap and sleeve

Thank you for putting my mind at ease
  4. First I want to start off by saying I love this site. Everyone is so supportive, I love coming here. Okay here is my question. I use a Cpap machine every night and have to admit I actually make sure I use it, I get a little worried if I don't. I notice that some times when I wake up I feel like I have air in my stomach, it usually goes away quickly when I get up. One or two loud burps and it's gone. Now in regard to surgery do you think this would cause the incision to open? I'm planning on asking the surgeon during my next weight check but that is 3 weeks out and wondering if any else had a similar thought?
  5. I have some time to go yet 3 more weigh ins. Not sure how to tell my boss. She won't give me a hard time because I need time off, but she is a very gullible person. Someone told her years ago the surgery is a bad alternative and she is against people having it. She doesn't understand how it really is a last alternative tha gives us a better chance. I thought of not saying anything and doing the emergency route. However I think I will be honest but not tell her for about another month yet. I also think it will be hard to cover up the pre surgery diet. I'm a private person as well. Only my wife, mom and in laws know. I'm not embarrassed but feel I need to keep it on a need to know basis.
  6. Well today I had my first dr appt. got lots of homework to do over the next 3 months. I was a little nervous at first and now I'm getting excited. I really can't wait. My wife had the surgery earlier this year and she looks fantastic now it's my turn!

    Just got my surgery date

Congrats! I'm excited for you. You have definitely come a long way and you will be much happier in the end!
  8. First weigh in tomorrow getting excited

  9. This may really sound dumb but here it goes. My boss hates the concept of bariatric surgery. She insists it causes someone to become an alcoholic. I really don't think this is true. I know her sister in law that had gastric bypass is an alcoholic but honestly don't think the surgery caused it alcoholism runs in her husbands family. Did anyone else hear of something like this?
  10. Looking forward to the information session tomorrow

  11. Hi my name is Tim and I'm new to the site. I'm really beside myself whether to go for surgery or not. Well in a nut shell. At my heaviest I weighed 365 pounds. I have tried many diets and fitness programs in the past. A few years back I dropped to about 273 pounds. Then I went back up to about 343. Last year my wife began her journey with the bariatric sleeve. At the same time I began a medical weight loss program.. I did good for awhile and dropped down to 285 pounds. in the last two months I stopped losing and gained 10 pounds. I have a bariatric information session appointment on 10/6. My wife said I shouldn't do it, I guess basically she misses eating a lot. coming from an Italian back ground it is a little tough. however she looks awesome. She lost 125 so far. should I do it? I think I is a good move, basically I can handle intense workouts. my problem is that I just don't know when to stop eating. even with healthy food I eat in excess.
