  1. I am so glad you were happy with your experience. I am 2 years post op and this was the best decision I have ever made for myself. I wasn't forgotten about after surgery. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I just love that we have this resource! 😊
  2. I met Dr Baranov back in October 2014 at a pre surgery seminar. I knew immediately that I wanted him to be my doctor. Dr B will take the time needed to make sure you're on the right track. The office staff and nurses are some of the nicest I've met. My case was handled so quickly and with such care to me. I had my surgery on 3/2/2015 and expected to spend 2-3 days in the hospital. When I woke up the next morning I felt great! Later that afternoon I was released. The office stayed in contact with me for those first several days; a very nice personal touch. The office on West Ave is very nice, always clean and I get a sense of calm there.

    Feeding my family?

Thanks for the input! I know it's only a couple of weeks, but I enjoy cooking for my family! :-) I hope I feel like most of you and it won't bother me!

    Feeding my family?

Thanks! I like the idea of prepping ahead. I also like the idea of cooking something I can eat with whatever I'm making for them. I'd better get to it! :-)

    Surgery approved! April 21st date.

My surgery is scheduled for 3/2 and I have to lose 15 pounds. I downloaded the app MyFitnessPal and have been using it regularly. It's really helped! I am down 10 pounds in 7 weeks! Good luck and congrats on your approval! :-)

    Activity tracker

I have the Garmin Vivosmart and I love it! I love that it tells me when to move. It also works with my fitness pal!
  8. Hi all! I am preop (surgery is scheduled for 3/2). I'm wondering if anyone has ideas/tips on what to cook for your family postop. I'm mostly concerned with the first month or 2 while I'm on liquids and soft mushy foods. Was cooking agonizing for you at that time? Thanks in advance! :-)

Many docs will prescribe liquid or chewables!

    Bandage Allergy?

You're welcome! Good luck! I know how it stinks to have an allergy like that. After my son was born via c-section I had a giant sheet of tape (it looked like Saran Wrap) that covered my entire belly. When they pulled it off it was just terrible! I looked SO much worse after! They told me it was hypoallergenic! Ugh!

    Bandage Allergy?

I am allergic to bandages too, but I have no reaction to steri strips and my dr said that's what he'll use. Hth!
  13. Hi all! I'm just beginning my journey and after reading about everyone waiting for insurance approval or having to jump through hoops to get approval, I decided to call my insurance company. They said I will need the Drs office to submit a letter stating medical need and previous diet attempts. I was told that since they do not cover visits to a nutritionist they do not require a 3 or 6 month diet prior to authorization. I said back to her "so, I need a letter stating medical necessity and the diets I've attempted and that's it?" And she replied "yes ma'am, that's it!" Does this sound right?
