I am 28 months post surgery. I lost about 55 lbs and have 30 more to go. I am struggling with going up and down 5 lbs and feel hungrier than I used to. I am concerned that my stomach stretched and that I won't be able to lose this last 30 lbs. I am kind of at a loss and don't know where to start. I binge on carbs which I know is my main problem, because I find restricting carbs totally so difficult, i am ready to start working hard again and appreciate any help! I hope my stomach can shrink again??

Does anyone go to weight watchers and follow the program after having sleeve surgery? I am 8 weeks post op, have lost about 25 lbs, but having a very difficult time on my own following a plan, still gave man craves for sweets and carbs. Is weight watchers a suitable plan? It is nor strictly high protein. The weekly support and weigh ins would help a lot, is theb program doable for this type of surgery? Thanks!!

I am 6 weeks post op, have lost about 22 lbs and have stopped. I am not 100% with the program, but added exercise this week and eating so much less than I was. I don't understand why I have stopped losing weight. I cannot eat a lot so I get hungry every few hours. I am not supposed to graze but get intensely hungry throughout the day. I am very depressed about this, I put myself through this emotionally and physically grueling procedure and I am besides myself. I eat a lot of protein but do eat sweets a little bit, but not enough to stop weight loss?? I do not drink the required 6-8 glasses a day. I really need help. I was not crazy about the nutritionist I saw for pre op work, and do not know who else to speak to, if that is recommended.i don't know how many calories I eat a day and can't find the right food journal. Thank you for your help in advance!!

Regrets after Gastric Sleeve Surgery, is this normal?
Wmc1231 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only 1 day post op and things went pretty well, I am home and experiencing nausea and some discomfort. I feel overwhelmed with the life changes that are in front of me and feel sad--Has anyone experienced this and if so does it pass? I also am worried that I won't get 60 oz of liquid in daily , which I was told is essential to prevent dehydration. The whole thing feels surreal right now, I appreciate any thoughts you might have.I did not jump into this, I gave it a great deal of time, exploration and thought before committing to this surgery. Thanks -
I am 2.5 weeks post op and I have been experiencing a lot of sadness, sometimes it come from nowhere and I feel a little immobilized. My Dr said it is completely normal, and I know there is a lot of loss that goes along with this surgery. Just wondering if other people are experiencing this and if it gets better quickly.

Who is pre-op and who is post op?
Wmc1231 replied to WeeWers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 3 1/2 weeks post op, I am exhausted all the time, a little depressed as well. I returned to work part time in one week, but I tire very easily. I am still on puréed food but hoping after my Dr. visit this week I can start some soft foods. Finding it hard to get 60 oz of protein down and enough liquids. I do not drink the required 60 oz a day, but I try to get as close as I can. Emotionally this has been extremely hard for me, The good news, no more diabetes, the surgery went great and a quick physical recovery. I just hope this gets easier. Appreciate thoughts and support -
I will also be 63 in December, had surgery Nov 13 th. I became a grandmother last year and that was a big motivation for doing he surgery. It has been a more difficult recovery ( emotionally) these past 3 weeks than I expected, although the surgery was great. Looking to be part of an online support group

Regrets after Gastric Sleeve Surgery, is this normal?
Wmc1231 replied to Wmc1231's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just found it on amazon, but it is a scoop not a Tablespoon that adds that much protein. Just want to be sure this is correct, but I am ordering it also, great idea!!!! -
I am one week post op, on puréed food, and trying to eat high protein low carb as much as possible. I am hungry about an hour or two after eating, physical, not emotional hunger. Is this normal? I thought a great deal of hunger went away, a little confused.

I would also like to know if people get very hungry post op? I am one week, on mushy foods, but I am hungry a great deal of the time. I can't eat much at once, trying to drink as much as I can, but find I need to eat every few hours, physical hunger, not psychological. Do people experience this? -
If you eat puréed food and too fast, can that cause diahhrea? And is that dumping syndrome?this has happened to me once or twice, one week post op. tomorrow.

I had surgery nov 13 th, had my first dr visit, down 11 lbs ( even after a 7 lb weight gain in the hospital from the iv) and diabetes gone!! Sugar completely normal already no more diabetes meds or cholesterol meds!!! This was the main reason i went through with this, my health. I backed out once but had the courage to finally do it, and it takes great courage. It was traumatic, although not too much physical pain and it gets a little easier every day. I am on a puréed diet now, trying to get as much fluid and protein as I can. My Dr said it gets easier and the first month is the hardest. All the best.

Regrets after Gastric Sleeve Surgery, is this normal?
Wmc1231 replied to Wmc1231's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was very helpful, I don't want to obsess about every oz of water every minute. I saw the Dr. for my one week visit today and he said basically what you did, in the beginning there is a large supply and not to be overly concerned. Focus on hi protein, low carb and low fat and exercise, exercise, exercise, keep moving. He stressed that the most. It is 5 days post op, I don't feel myself yet but getting stronger every day and getting used to this tremendous change in my body and life. I am now onto puréed foods and will be able to enjoy the foods tha are best for me. Many many thanks!!! -

I only hope it gets better for you very soon. I take strength in hearing how effective it is for most and I hope you will get results soon. My sugar levels are now normal 4 days post op, so I am encouraged ( I am diabetic and off of meds.) I feel now that if I could have done anything else I would have, I struggled a lifetime with food, even during my 20 plus thin years, years ago. But the last 29 years I have had no long term success so this was my last attempt, mostly for health reasons I am 62.) Don't give up, I have read that sometimes it takes the body longer to adjust, and while I really feel what you are saying I am keeping my fingers crossed that things turn around for you soon. Keep me posted. -
I had surgery Nov 13 th 4 days post op, every day gets a little easier but have high and lows each day. See the Dr tomorrow

All the best. I had surgery Thursday too, and I am now t able to get 60 oz of liquid down. I do feel a little better each day, but this is tough physically and emotionally. You sound really good, that is inspiring!

I had surgery 11/13, 2 days post op and I gained 7 lbs in the hospital, had lost 12 lbs pre op and was so discouraged. Nothing happening now, just struggling to get 60 oz liquid down a day. Do people count protein shakes towards liquid? I hope this gets easier.

I bet living with someone who has gone through it will help in time. This website is giving me a great deal of strength and support. My colleague, a psychiatrist reminded me tonight that we are all grieving after this type of surgery, there is loss along with the tremendous gains. The trick is to focus on the positives, which feels difficult right now. -
Who is pre-op and who is post op?
Wmc1231 replied to WeeWers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 2 days post op, having a rough time emotionally, and gained 6 lbs overnight at hospital from IV fluids. First day home was emotionally draining, could not get all the water down and no room for anything but liquids now. I hope this gets easier, I want to be optimistic. -

Wmc1231 replied to Sandstress51's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery on 11/13, was told we cannot swim or go in a tub for about 4 weeks. Gained 6 lbs overnight from the IV fluids in the hospital, am hoping it will start to come off. Struggling a lot, feeling sad, some regrets and discomfort. Also worried about getting 60 oz of fluids down. So grateful for the support on this site.
