  1. Boy it's strange reading those thoughts. I'm 2 weeks now and cleared for soft foods and purees. Whole mood was lifted at that point. Two more weeks and I can try solids. All I can say is hang in there! Still no regular sleep but it's getting better.
  2. Some random thoughts... I desperately want to go to the gym. I was always athletic until injury and weight gain sidelined me. I'm soooo ready! I have several brands/flavors of Protein powder and ready made shakes I no longer like. They are downright disgusting now even though I loved them before. Going to try layering them for new flavors. I was a little down today over liquid Protein only though it was better in the afternoon. Working out would help that but that's still a no no. It snowed here today on the first full day of spring. Couldn't even go for a walk. This hellish winter needs to end NOW! I'm more than bored with the shakes although they are filling. The satiety just isn't there and I miss texture and chewing. My husband has been great but he keeps saying he doesn't understand why people feel I'm fat. He never thought I needed the sleeve but supports me. I love this and hate it at the same time. Why do both the pre-op and post-op diets for docs differ so much? I'm all about letting my sleeve heal and will follow the post-op diet to a t but some are allowed a lot of diversity after one week. I haven't had a full nights sleep since two nights before surgery. Going to try lukewarm chamomile tea tonight. Ok that's it. Just needed to get these thoughts down somewhere. Hope you all have had good days. Tomorrow is the start of a new week and I plan to make the most of it!
  3. I use this program but I can't tolerate their multi. I do use everything else. I'll use it a bit longer to see if my tummy decides to behave. Otherwise I'll get the B12 from my pharmacy.

    40% off PatchMD vitamins

I'd love to see feedback that includes labs. I've had vitamin issues my whole life. There are only a few brands that don't make me ill. I'll have to do a bit of research.

    Can't Sleep

Yep. This is life right now. I'm not waking due to reflux. Just waking. It's quite annoying.
  7. Guessing the original poster is long gone by now so maybe this will help the next person unsure about the hoops. My insurance plan (note: plan not company) required only one NUT visit. The other hoops were my surgeon's requirements. He will tell you that some of the requirements are to assess your willingness to comply with some of the more regimented phases. If you can't be bothered with screenings that can save your life will you stick to the pre and post op diets. Post op compliance being critical to good health and all. The psych eval prepped me for some of these dark days. I don't know why the OP felt the way she did but the questions asked were valid from veterans. I'd rather have critical questions asked of me than only accepting the pats on backs. That said, I do wish her well and hope she's successful.
  8. Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Smooth sailing for me. Just not add much energy as I'd like to have. Switched protein powder today and it's giving me major gas. Other than that it's been great!
  9. I decided to make my own broths today. I think the process of cooking will help a bit. Plus I can make it low sodium. I've got beef bones in one pan and chicken bones in another. I think these will be more satisfying than just opening a box.
  10. Finally have my date, March 16th! This hasn't been the slowest process but it sure seemed like it at the time! So excited!
  11. I know I won't be able to sleep! I'm in bed now sleepy but can't sleep. So nervous!
  12. I'm tomorrow also. I have to be there at 6AM. Packing my bag now!

    Hey Guys

Hi. I've been on Bariatric Pal for quite some time but I didn't know about this group! How awesome! I'm scheduled for surgery on 3/16. Right around the corner! Thanks for creating this little corner of BP.
  14. I can't believe my surgery is in 9 days!!! I've lost right at 10 pounds in about a week on the pre-op diet (had a little gain due to TOM). So ready for this!

    Preop diet .... Please help

Same here. Day 5 and only 3 shakes. Had to force the 3rd!

Liquid diet day one pre op

I'm on day 6 pre op. I promise you it gets better. I have to remind myself to have a shake now. Truly am not hungry. So different than the first two days!
  17. Day three has been good. Much different than the last two days. I'm feeling good and while a little hungry, I'm not "starving".

    Connecticut Sleevers?

Day 3 of my pre-op diet. I think the tide is finally turning. The last two days have been tough but the scale is responding already!
  19. Yesterday was day 2 for me and it was awful. But I didn't wake up hungry this morning. Just had a glass of water and I don't feel queasy or like I'm starving. Hoping this day is better for us all.
  20. I'm scheduled for surgery 3/16. As I begin to prepare for the liquid phase, hospitalization and surgery I wondered what the veterans wish they would have known ahead of time. If you could tell yourself one thing about the process, what would you say?
  21. One more bump. Anyone have anything else to add?
  22. I'm having the same feelings, Kim. I'm scheduled 3/16.
  23. Very excited! I've found the pre-op shakes I like the most. Just waiting to stay that on the 2nd and the the chin l big day on the 16th!
  24. LL and Cowgirl, I like. I've never been the type to have pity parties so your words are fine. Lol
