In college, my friend Mary and I had a saying, which is pretty much not repeatable, here. It went something like this: "F*&^ 'em if they can't take a joke." I have chosen for many years to live by this motto. If they don't want to see a fat girl dancing, they don't have to look... I just don't do "Embarrased". (at least not about stuff like body movement). Besides, most people enjoy seeing an honest expression of joy. I love to dance and I will darned well do it anywhere I want to. In the dark ages, my buddy David and I used to do a little Fred & Ginger number down the middle of 6th Street (at 2am there isn't much traffic). I have spent many happy hours dancing. Alas, in my current state of Maximum Density, dancing is physically challenging. I still do it at home where I can collapse onto the couch when my back starts to hurt. Have I mentioned lately that I WANT MY BAND!!! (ok, deep calming breaths...)

I am going to call them on Monday for a "Status" and then keep calling them every 3-4 days until they get-r-done... I don't know about the HR thing. Since it isn't like I have a surgery scheduled, it is pretty hard to make that fly. If I don't get an answer soon, I will give it a try. I am actually hoping to be able to get a YES and then have my surgery on Nov. 19th. I already have 2 weeks vacation scheduled for Thanksgiving - and I would be EXTREMELY thankful if I could have two weeks to recover and get well past the "clear liquid" stage before returning to work. I think, having read of the experience of others, that I might be a tad cranky during that phase. It would be better if I could be cranky at home. Today, we are going to a new gym that has opened around the block from our house. They have a grand opening special and DH wants to join. If they are open enough hours, I will join, too. In the dark ages, DH and I used to go to the gym together and walk the treadmill together. (Yes, that is our idea of a hot date). We also have to pick up some Lawn & Leaf bags. Fall yard cleanup continues. Last week I planted the Azalea bushes. This week, the color spots. That's about all the excitement for this weekend... Hugs, Eileen!! See, that's just what I mean. I have mindlessly eaten 4 or 5 items at a shot on my worst days. Since only TWO of the items I eat run almost a thousand calories - that would explain A LOT about my girlish figure. I never would have thought that TWO items would be a thousand calories. I got a response from Kim when I signed her guest book on her website. "All has turned out well. The stomach has come back through the band and I was able to get .6cc fill. Slow and conservative. I’m THRILLED." Sounds like she won't need another surgery, after all. How are you Kim? Hope all is still going well.
