New information on self pay financing options
ReneBean replied to julieplunk's topic in Insurance & Financing
Hey Brad. I applied at Capital One - the max term of financing is 5 yrs - and the range of rates and everything was listed on their website. what they quoted me on my approval for $15,000 5 yr loan was a payment of $313/mo. I forget the exact rate but it was something like 8.99%. Sadly, even though I "Qualify" for the loan, in real life, I can't afford the payments! I applied online and had an answer back pretty quickly. **Caution** As a mortgage underwriter I have to caution you against applying for multiple loans - as the inquiries from when they pull your credit WILL affect your score. (and every lender WILL pull your credit.) If you think that it is something you are really going to use - then by all means apply and get an answer - but if you are just checking out options and not ready to proceed, then I would say to hold off on applying. :] -
Based on the current numbers - we have a 5% unbanded rate. Hopefully, some more Banded folks will stop by and vote. :]

Go Heather! Go!! Break the 299 barrier - you can do it!!

Welcome, AngelEyes... There is lots to see and do here... The search function is a good way to get specifics - but you can do yourself a favor by just cruising through some of the forums for a look-see. Feel free to click around until you feel comfortable... you can't hurt anything. Good Luck!! And if you don't find the answers to questions you didn't even know you had, I will be very surprised. :]

Snoring/Sleep Apnea? Shortness of breath? Arthritis?/pain in weight bearing joints? Irregular menstrual cycles? All of these count. Definitely get a second opinion. :]

Santa Clause North Pole, Earth Dear Santa, I have been a good girl. It really wasn't my fault what happened at Betty's Office party. It was Zan who spiked the punch with too much Fuzzy Navel. I can't help it if I drank 47 glasses. It was so good---smelled and tasted just like Cinnamon. I thought it was funny when I put Pat's Red Hat on my head and danced the Tango on the Table while singing `Santa Baby'. I didn't mean to break Betty's LapTop and don't know why Betty would accuse me of kidnapping. I don't remember calling Big Paul's wife a reckless goat---even though she looked like one with purple eye shadow and silver lipstick! And when I threw up on Eileen's husband's toe, it was only because I ate too much of that fruitcake. After all that fun, I admit I was a little tired. So I fell asleep on my way home and drove my mountain bike through my neighbor's window. I don't think that was any reason for my neighbor to call me a dancing turtle and have me arrested for loitering! So, Santa...here I sit in my jail cell on Christmas Eve, all tattooed and huge. And I'm really not to blame for any of this green stuff. Please bring me what I want the most---bail money! Sincerely and boldly yours, Irene (Really a nice girl!) P.S. It's only 97 bucks!

Oooo - Vines can come - then we will have pole dancing and belly dancing, too. Sounds like a party, to me!

I think BonBon must be skinnycuteblonde for "tush" or "Booty". Really, they speak a whole different language, I swear. GO CRYSTAL!!! I hope you make so much money you can give up your aspirations to work for the Gov'mt and become a true professional Belly Dancer and Dance Instructor. :]

Pearl River is booked solid - I asked for that - but the reservations gal says there is no room at the inn. It would not be my choice to drive from LaGuardia - but it made the most sense, since I will need to drive to work and be renting a car, anyway. This place is only 8 miles from work. Not so bad - although I will allow lots of time for the drive. My plane is supposed to land at 1:16. I have NO idea how long it will take me to get where I am going and get my room. Being the last alien on earth without a cell phone is only hard when I travel. I am betting it will be something like 5 before I am all put together. Hows about I call you after I get to the room? I have your numbers... I will be sure to carry them with me - and leave a copy for my DH in case I get buried under a snow drift or something. :]

Hi All!! FINALLY, I got the last of my travel info. At FIVE on Friday... (Who, me? Panicking? Freaking out? Nah...) Anyway, I will be at the Hilton Woodcliff Lake 201-391-3600. 200 Tice Blvd Woodcliff Lake, NJ 07677-8410 I will be registered under my secret alias: Irene Smith Oh - the best fun? Since I am going to be at the hotel that DOESN'T have shuttle service to our office, I get to DRIVE from LaGuardia to the hotel and back and forth to my office everyday. Y'All who live in either New Jersey or New York might want to stay indoors for the entire week. The roads won't be safe starting Sunday afternoon at about 1:30pm! :]

Hi Monica! I sent you a Private Message - affectionately known as a PM. Welcome to LBT.

Well, dang. I had to work all day... The office opened late - so I didn't have to try and drive until after the sun came out. But, of course, half the staff didn't come in because they live in who-knows-where across the frozen tundra, or their kids were home from school with no day-care - so it was exceptionally busy for those of us that managed to make it in. I am happy to say that the Fed-Ex package went out last night to Cali for my Independent Medical Review. Hopefully, it arrived this morning. I will have to track the package to be sure - but I am assuming Fed-Ex did their thing. I really need a miracle. I feel like it all goes to hell if it isn't done before the change in my insurance policy. Maybe it won't - but I KNOW it will be a damn sight more expensive if it rolls over to next year - which will REALLY suck. If they actually review it in the next couple of days, instead of throwing it onto a huge pile, there is still a slim chance. But, what is the likelihood that there isn't a huge pile in front of me? Now, Betty. Now! Cross everything! So, Eileenie - did you touch my lottery tickets when I held them up to the screen?!? I don't even need the millions - I would be thrilled to pieces with a couple hundred thousand. I could get my surgery AND re-model my house AND put aside some money for PS after I lose! *sigh* I guess winning the lottery and getting my insurance review before year-end are about the same level of likeliness.... Who was it that offered Voo Doo? I'll take it. Bring it on! Everybody Syncronize Watches!! Now is the time when we must all concentrate very hard on SANITY & CHARITY in the State Insurance Board offices. Think of HAPPY, HAPPY State Employees... :] I travel on Sunday. Exactly when, I do not know, since both of the people that would have made those reservations were out today. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute! Keeps it all exciting that way. I will get something tomorrow, for sure. Patty, I hope you are feeling a little more chirpy! There is nothing I hate more than looking for work... It sucks! But, I guess it beats starving! Can you work something out with your Mom and the kids for the first however long it takes to move from Graveyard at Disney to real shifts? I mean, NOBODY should work at Disney more than you - and you have the qualifications. IF it's just the time thing, maybe your mom could cover for a while, until you are no longer the Newbie there? Are you staying at her place? It would kind of make sense.... Especially if the kids will be sleeping while you work. Just a thought. Of course, you would have to sleep at some point - but there must be a way.... Jan - you could always hook up with Eileen & I on Sunday... or with Zan (& Eileen?) & I later in the week... Once I know for sure when my flights are, I will post. Hey Dianne! - I love it when my family comes to town. How are your Sisters? Betty, Glad to hear that the kitchen was kind to you today. Dang, all this talk of Cookies makes me hungry!! Well, I have the Pup-Tent at the ready, and it is time for me to hit the dusty trail.

Ooooooo I just LOVE Birthdays!! Happy, Happy! Joy, Joy!! Hope you have had the best Birthday ever! :]

Why did you choose the band over GB?
ReneBean replied to sleepyjean's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For me, the Mortality Rate says it all By-Pass - 1/200 Band - 1/2000 If you had a 1 in 200 chance of winning the raffle - you would buy the ticket, right? The chances of hitting that 1 in 200 are pretty good... or bad. I wasn't willing to take the chance that I would be going to the Fat-Roach Motel (Fat Roaches go in, But they Don't Come Out) AND the complications of By-pass surgery can kill you after the fact, even years later - heart problems from the shock to your system, malnutrition related problems. It's potentially seriously ugly. My insurance company would be THRILLED to cover a By-Pass for me - but I am fighting them for the safer procedure. -
Go Katie, Go!! Kick some major weight loss butt.

I have only seen representations on TV... I think we should all go and consider it an educational and cultural experience. :]

Howdy Folks, The saga continues... In case you're just tuning in, I have been denied and my appeal to Blue Cross has also been denied. Well, today I sent my packet off to the state of California Insurance Board for an independent medical review. Maybe I am just pissing in the wind, here, because my policy with Blue Cross changes as of January 1 - and I really don't know if there is a company exclusion being added or anything. Hopefully, the change in policy will only mean that I have to pay more than I would have before... But, if Miracles happen, maybe somebody at the State Insurance Board will have a heart, give a damn, and get right on it. If they review QUICKLY, I could still get in under the wire on the current policy, and only have to pay 20% - vs 30% next year. Everybody keep your fingers crossed. The package will be delivered on the wings of Fed-Ex tomorrow morning. Please note, I would have filed my request much sooner, but our friends at Blue Cross did not bother to mail the denial letter until 3-4 days after the verbal denial - and it did not arrive until after I left on my vacation. Have I mentioned how much I love BC/BS of California, lately? After Jan 1, I feel like I will have to start ALL over. :[ Everybody think good thoughts.

Hey Lisa - my hubby said the weather report says it will all be over by tomorrow, anyway. Maybe you will be able to make it, after all. :]

I am shocked. I thought at the mere mention of the opposite sex, my dear friend DeLarla would have been here before me to snatch up all the good ones...(aka ALL of them) Bwah ha ha haaaaaa. Now all I have to do is get rid of the rest of these chicks! Hmmmmm, dry chicken? No, I'll never get them all to eat it.... Well, I'll think of something! Love you guys! MORE MEN! MORE MEN! MORE MEN!!!
-
hey, who says boys can't belly dance? I never heard that! Besides, we can't let DeLarla get hold of a gun. It would end badly, I just know it. :]
