I can't wait to get the letter in my hands and get back with my surgeon! Thanks for all the finger-crossing, prayers and good thoughts! Chin up, Trina. The one relative probably thinks you are getting the by-pass surgery - or something with the same risk-factors. Most folks are un-aware and un-educated about the band. Send them here if they continue to harass you about it. That person is probably just worried about you, and doesn't know about the Band. hugs!

Welcome to LBT!! I have been told that the loose skin is affected by how much you have to lose, how fast you lose the weight and your age/skin elasticity. It's really too individual to give you a firm answer... Hope it all works out for you. :]

He was recommended to me by people OTHER than Obesity Help - but I didn't use him due to lack of funds and the uncertainty of life. Have you e-mailed and called and played the part of Squeeky Wheel? I ended up appealing my own case. I am on month four, and I have appealed to the state. I am supposed to hear something soon. Sorry that whole attorney thing isn't working for you. :[

Hey, if your PCP is willing and able to get certified to do fills - GO FOR IT!! That is optimal, as far as I am concerned. Really, the surgeons are busy doing surgeries - and you DEFINITELY will want someone local to do after-care. Besides, unless you live in the farthest back woods - he can probably use the skills to make some additional cash from other local bandsters. :]

Well, I have something to report - sort of... You all know I have been waiting for the State of CA to do my Independent Medical Review. I had not really been expecting any answer until February - but I got an envelope from Maximus Center for Health Dispute Resolution in the mail, yesterday. I was all excited - ripped open the letter - and what should I find inside?..... Oh - a letter for some guy named Bruce!!! AAAAAARRRRRRRGH!! :frusty: Ok, enough with the suspense already! I am so tired of waiting. I mean REALLY tired of waiting. So I scurry in to work this morning and call these folks, thinking that if I have Bruce's letter, maybe he has mine, right? WRONG. The receptionist gal checked it out. They are still waiting for my info - the last thing should be in today - and the gal said she would call me. Well, at least I know I am going to get an answer soon. Everybody cross everything... Now is when we must hope for Sanity to prevail over Stupidity. Sherry - So sorry about DH's Grandmother. I only manage to type up these posts by using the copy & paste commands a lot. Highlight the text and hit the 'Ctrl' button and the 'C' at the same time to copy, then use 'Ctrl V' to paste. That way, I can flip from page to page without losing all my stuff - and if I do time out, I only lose what I have typed since my last Copy. Just a techno-tip. Anything under 70 (after the Holidays are over) is just NOT for me, anymore! I think temps between 70 and about 90 are perfect. Besides, the warm weather means we get lovely vegetables. Weight, unknown. NSV - when DH asked me to take him to Sonics for Ice Cream, I SAID NO. And I ate raw veggies for snack on Sunday, instead of chips.

Over many years of having equipment in the house, I have learned that I will NOT do exercise at home. The only time I have successfully exercised regularly, I was going to a gym with a buddy. My current buddy is my DH. We joined the local express fitness for a fraction of the cost of a good treadmill - and we are going. If we stop using it - we don't have a big piece of equipment blocking up the house, and we are out about a third of the cost of a good treadmill. Just a thought. :]

Gosh, I feel down-right up to date with only some expired milk and botulized turkey.... DH swears he will throw them out....
