Help food suggestion NEEDED!!!!
ReneBean replied to Scorpio's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For liquids I did Six Star Protein powder with juice or milk and extract type flavorings. I really liked one that I made with coffee & Cinnamon. For mushies - refried Beans thinned with enchilada sauce Tuna whizzed in the food processor with mayo & onions Mashed potato with gravy Good luck!! Soon, you will be on to soft and real food. Hugs! -
Yay, Dani!!!!! God knows we don't want to look like beets giving birth!! LOL! :] Congrats! and keep up the great work!

Hi Carole! In the LapBand world, Self Pay talks... I am sure the process will be speedy and efficient for you! ;] Congrats and good luck on your surgery.

Ooooo - look at the pretty butterflies... Lovely, just like you, Eileenie!

Geez - I finally feel better, and everybody else is sick?!? Cindy - hope you feel better SOON. I surely don't want to miss you on Monday. :] Jules - I guess an eliptical machine COULD just fall out of the sky... but I figure I am going to have to shop for one. :] Kat - Hope you got all that red sauce... I have done stuff JUST like that on several occassions. ICK. That "not wanting to go out" thing is why I am thinking of getting an eliptical machine. I tend to Hermit out on the weekends - but I need to exercise more than 3-4 days I manage during the week. I am still thinking, though. I have had equipement before - and it just SAT - usually draped in my clothes or something.... *sigh* Claudia - Hi! I would say that you could probably ride the rides at Disneyland after a few weeks - maybe four. I don't know if I would advise it before that. Pull up a keyboard and tell us about you. :] Chris - glad to hear you are getting out of there. I really get a bad feeling about Psycho Boy. I figure you can't get out of there soon enough. Hugs! Hope you feel better, soon. Enjoy the soup!! Sherry - LOL!! Glad I could inspire you!! I have to admit that I don't even know if there IS a local Freecycle group... I guess I will have to google it and find out. It certainly would be nice if I could get an eliptical free... or at least cheap. Uh - getting out of bed at 4:30?!?!? Not for me, thanks! I will NEVER be that dedicated. :biggrin1: Betty - Darlin' I so share your joy over the Friday!!! I suspect that my company will keep us to the bitter end - but hey, at least it's only another 4-5 hours....TGIF indeed. I hear you on the machinery... I have been there and done that - but that was pre-band.... I am still thinking about it. I have to know in my soul that I will REALLY use the machine if I get it. Even with my company subsidizing over half the cost - it is still an expensive little machine... :] Well - Just in case I don't get to my computer this weekend, I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!!! Can you believe it has been over a year for our little Jersey Invasion? It seems like only yesterday I was battling the insurance company - and you guys had to talk me down off the ceiling on a daily basis. Thank you all for that. I am pretty sure I would have lost my mind waiting if I hadn't had y'all to talk to. I cannot tell you all how much it means to me to have your love and prayers and well wishes in my life. Even when I don't mention it, I really do appreciate each and every one of our little group. I wish you all the very best New Year with all the love in my heart. Hugs and Love to All!! Irene

ROCK ON, LIBERTY!!! You RULE! :]

Well - bending over took a while. That stitching of the port causes the most pain - and it does last for a while. Hope it starts to feel better soon - just keep taking your pain meds. Hugs!!!

New here... young male and my story.

Being an "old" bander - over 40 - I can tell you that I WISH there had been this option when I was a girl. My life would have been quite different, I think. It certainly would have been more active! I wish you the best of luck in getting your band, Jason. Keep researching and hang out here with us. We will help as much as we can. Hugs!! -
I felt a little weird for a couple of weeks - then I stopped thinking about it - or it started to be "normal" to feel weird. :]
-
I drank canned Protein Shakes and ate Soup from the building cafe. It will be fine. Congrats on getting your surgery date!
-
coffee & liqueurs work - no bubbly. And Yummy! Happy New Years!!
-
Anybody else for coffee on New Year's? We'd love to meet some other North DFW folks.... :]
-
Cardio test is easy. They tape those little sensors on you and have you walk the treadmill for a couple of minutes. I figure if you don't fall over from an easy walk on the treadmill, you can probably make it through the band surgery. :]
-
Congrats on getting your surgery date!! Good luck with that brain off thing... I still can't quite manage it. :]

A Lapbanster's Christmas Confessions

WELL I think my scale said something ridiculous - like NINE pounds - but I know some of that is puffiness from Water retention. Hopefully ALL - but I would doubt that... Darn those lemon bars.... -
Soon, it will be easier, anyway. Already, the leftover dips and cakes and pies are disappearing... Soon, all that fabulous holiday food will be just a memory until next November... and we won't even have to think about chocolate until Valentine's Day. :] Just think - you are like every other person in America... you gained a little weight over the holidays. The good news is - you will lose it again quickly once you get your fill. Hugs!
-
I think that's just the LONG name for an endoscopy, right? Everybody is supposed to have one about a year after surgery - or sooner depending on your doc. They stick a little camera down your throught and check out your esophogas and your stomach... I haven't had one - but lots of folks on this site have...
-
Wow!! I haven't been able to wear a 10 since I WAS 10. Way to Go!!!
-
Congrats and Good Luck!~ We will be thinking good thoughts for an easy surgery and a speedy recovery. Stop in and tell us how it went when you feel up to it. Hugs!

Steri-Strip Fall off Time
ReneBean replied to IlliterateJedi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to trim the edges of mine to keep them from coming off before everything was healed. The adhesive caused a bit of an alergic reaction - so I kept trimming anything that peeled up and I covered the whole thing with 3M bandaides while the incisions healed.
