    Thanks Alex!

    Maintaining Her down there

Sometimes I do nothing aka Au Natural Sometimes I use a battery operated trimmer. I try and refrain from shaving, it really isn't healthy (I'm a midwife...trust me).

    Birth control options

That's interesting that someone would even prescribe that to you over 200lbs. I only say this cuz I'm a midwife and I work in OB/Gyn. But kudos to you! I say if it works then stick with it!
  6. No one in this world is perfect. You may not lie about WLS but you've got flaws. Check with the man in the mirror before you check another.

    Birth control options

Just a heads up. The contraceptive patch aka Ortho Evra is not recommended for people more than 190lbs. Something to do with large amounts of fat and hormone absorption.

When you can't even be honest with yourself

Here's the thing. I do not think people should lie about their WLS and use other surgeries as a cover up...that just seems like bad Mojo to me. But when it come to keeping secrets, it's one of the things I could never understand because I am such an open book. For example, I have a good friend who has been SUPER secretive since we were kids in high school and it always drove me nuts. Recently, I found out through a mutual friend that she married some Nigerian guy so he could get his papers and she kept that a secret too! After while I accepted her secrets and realized that it's not really my business to get her to be open. Truth is, people are gonna have MANY reasons to keep MANY things a secret...and it's our job to mind our own business and love them or stop dealing with them if you can't handle it. As for me, I decided to keep my WLS a secret until after the surgery. I do think it's important to share my story so others can get help but I will do it on my own time. No one, within this world and especially under this thread is without flaws. To think otherwise would be BS.

I'm getting my Skyla IUD tomorrow...and it's a great method for PCOS girls!
  10. Had dinner with the folks tonight. Fixed my plate with a small amount of food and my dad walks by and complains that I am eating too little. Many times poor eating habits are familial. I havent even been sleeved yet...smh.

      Bandora

I get that a lot from various family members. They make comments like " You don't want to be malnourished" " Eating like a bird" etc. However, no one complained when I was eating seconds and thirds at family dinners past! WOW ! But I know I am healthy and eating better than ever. Just hard to tune out family sometimes.

My husband does that to me to, saying I'm not eating enough and I haven't had the surgery yet either...lol...

  11. It just dawned on me that I've been following this thread but hadnt actually answered the question. So here goes: I wont miss... Not being the right type of BBW (Big beautiful women). Most guys who like BBW's want the ones with big booty. Being the fat girl in the group of slim or normal sized women. Being invisible or ignored by the opposite sex. Being told "you're pretty for a fat girl"...or "you're cute but...." Being judged by how I look on the outside and not by who I am on the inside Being LIMITED to plus size clothing. Dont get me wrong, plus sized clothes are cute but sometimes I see things in regular sizes that I really wanna buy. Not being able to look in the mirror because I HATE my shape. The back fat and upper butt fat HAS TO GO! Being home alone on weekends and watching everyone on Instagram and Facebook go out on dates or get married Getting nervous about weight requirements for things like horseback riding or ziplining. Feeling like my health is gonna fade me and that Diabetes and High blood pressure are inevitable. Worrying that I may never have children due to PCOS complications Not being able to jog (even though I really want to) because I feel so heavy, have knee pain, and Asthma. Lastly, I will not miss failing at weight loss over and over again. I know that VSG is only a tool and that I will have to work hard for real results and I am ready. NO MORE FAILURE. NO MORE EXCUSES!

    Portion Control

So cool!!! I want one! Lol
  13. Hey ladies! I met with my surgeon yesterday...plan is to get sleeved April 2015. So much went on yesterday that I forgot to ask a few questions. One of them being allowed methods of contraception. I saw in the pamphlet that it said to stop taking oral contraception a few days before surgery and choose a barrier method but I assume that's because they want your bowels empty...not cuz of the hormones? Anyways....I have an appointment with my midwife Oct 20th for my IUD...the IUD is good for 3 years and I don't wanna get this put in to find out I can't use it cuz it's hormonal and could cause blood clots and post-op complications. Thanks for your insight!

Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)

Hey guys! My name is Crystal...I have been a Registered Nurse for 7 years and a Certified Nurse Midwife for 2 years. When I went back for my Masters degree my weight really BALLOONED up because all I was doing was working, school and eating...there was no time for diet and exercise. When I graduated midwifery school in 2012 I managed to lose 20lbs...but unfortunately have gained back most of that.
  15. I am sorry your brother was so insensitive. Good for you for putting your foot down and shutting him up! I love my mom dearly, and I think she will be supportive, but she has a big mouth and will also tell the wrong person. Congratulations on your successful surgery...I wish you all the best!

Ignorance and WLS goes hand in hand?

Stand firm hun! Try and ignore those negative opinions from others...or just stop telling folks! I find that people are very negative towards WLS and consider it cosmetic or the easy way out. Especially for us folks who are right on the cusp of the 35-40 BMI. Hang in there! You are doing the right thing. You are doing this for you! Visit this Bariatric Pal website often...it will keep you connected and grounded in your decision.

  20. Ugh! I hate my upper butt fat! I'm gonna work hard to get rid of it and never get it back!!!
  21. Ha ha...Yassss that's what I'm talking about!!!!
  22. Sorry you're having a tough time with periods...and yes, it's probably cuz of the extreme weight loss and hormonal regulations. The depo is good...or any progesterone only contraception will help.
