  1. I had to document my weight, diet I was trying and physical regimen. Make sure your physician is writing this in your chart. Diet types included: Low calorie, low carb, jenny Craig, weight watchers, etc Physical regimen: Work out DVDs, personal trainer or gym..make sure you write how many times per week in your chart I was attending weight watchers all year so my insurance included that as part of the 6 month...they only required me to see the doc 2x because of that.

    Uhc insurance and bmi

I also have UHC Choice Plus and asked the same question to my Bariatric resource nurse. She said no, only the initial weight is what matters. How did you get Pre-approved? They never discussed that with me.

If your next step is the same as mine after endoscopy, you'd wait gladly. But it isn't, so knock 'em out.

    Insurance mandated diet

My PCP is also disorganized and you can barely read his hand writing. Whenever I would see him I made it clear the surgeon and insurance want to see in my notes my weight and regimen but I have a feeling he is not writing much. Thankfully the surgeon provided some notes with all that stuff so what I did was held onto the packet and filled out my weight at every visit with the regimen I was doing so that at the end of the 6 months all he had to do was sign it and fax it over..which he did. Disorganized people are very happy when you do their work for them ????
  10. Got off the phone today with a representative from United Health Care and apparently I have to have 6 months of supervised weight loss with a Doctor, Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian. While I am grateful for having insurance I am a little bummed out about having to wait 6 MORE months. I've been considering Lap Band for 5 years and now that I finally made a decision waiting 6 more months just seems like torture. Judging by the posts in this forum this is not that uncommon...I'm just feeling antsy and frustrated. First of all I have no record of the multiple attempts to lose weight since I was 12 years old! Second, My BMI is 41....So if I do lose weight in these 6 months then I wont qualify...correct? On a positive note February 2015 is my 1 year anniversary at my new job...so I'll have tons of sick time and vacation time saved up. Thanks for listening to my rant

    Low Vitamin D level

Yes!...my PCP diagnosed me with low Vitamin D back in October. He said it was common in my area and that he has been reporting it to the CDC. He prescribed me Vitamin D supplements and he will re-check next month.
  12. Psych Evaluation complete! and it was only 5 minutes lol

ARE THERE ANY MARCH 2015 GASTRIC SLEEVER'S

    March 30, 2015...can't wait!
  14. So...Im currently on the 6 month physician supervised diet required by my health insurance. Went in today for my 3rd weigh-in and my doctor was so frickin negative. It left me feeling so bummed. He said something like "I really wish there was something to say to get you to change your mind. I know this surgery will not work."....MIND YOU...He was originally supportive when I started in October. Maybe he said this cuz I had a 2lb weight gain...but I am on my period....I usually gain about 4lbs. Perhaps he was only supportive because he thought I wouldnt follow through. Idk...im just feeling bummed out about this. I really LOVE my doctor and do not want to switch providers mid program but I just may have to. Thanks for listening

I cant stop thinkng about it.

I first heard of the sleeve in sept...yes...3 months ago..lol. Joined this site Oct 1st and haven't stopped thinking about it. I've watched videos on YouTube...joined facebook groups and search the hashtag #vsg on Instagram daily. Some would say I'm obsessed, but I just wanna do all my research. I've even read medical journals at my hospital when I go to work. Unfortunately I also have to do the 6 month supervised weight loss...so I won't be sleeved til the end of March 2015.
  21. Can't wait for that day! Congrats girlie!
  22. I'm so glad someone else understands me. It's so easy for women to say "have more confidence" ...but the truth is, the percentage of GOOD men who like big women is really low. Thin women can lack confidence and still get quality men. But...that's just the way it is. I'm tired of yo-yoing with my weight. Can't wait to be sleeved and healthy.

    Yeast infection... Is it normal?

If you're not into more meds...you can use tea tree oil suppositories in the vagina...works like a charm. You can get them on Amazon.
