Lower-end BMI Sleeve Surgery. Any others?
dark n lovely replied to Kevineastwest's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone. Im so happy to hear there are others out there like myself. I was 239lbs before my surgery with a BMI of 35. I stand 5'8" I was once 398LBS but lost most of that weight on my own. I just never couldn't get less than 200lbs. Well, on 8/5 I was 239, had the bypass on 8/12 but was 226 after doing the pre-op liquid diet, 195lbs after 7weeks, now im at a stall....lol 44lbs total Im happy to understand that im not doing something wrong in my program after reading everyone's post. The slower weight lost is to be expected since the excess weight that i do carry isn't a drastic number. I would like to thank all of you for sharing your thoughts, opinions, and experience. It has truly been a great tool to help me in my journey! Xoxoxo's -
Hairloss percentages ?
dark n lovely replied to pippinleicester's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am not sure of the percentage but i can personally say that i did lose some hair after the surgery. My nutritious and medical support team warned me that this could be possible. I was told to make sure i got the adequate amount of protein each day and i will see my hair grow back and stronger nails. Also with the help of my daily vitamins. -

I hope things get better for u. My surgeon had me start my protein drinks right after surgery. I had a gastric bypass 8/12/2014, I was drinking Isopure. It's considered a clear protein drink and safe to have as your stomach heals. I am also a diabetic. Whenever my sugar got too low i would have regular jello to help. Plus the calories from the protein drink would also help. Concentrate more on fluids than eating . It is very important to stay hydrated! Keep in touch with your medical team.....they are there to help. Good luck, sweetie. -
I was told no caffeine, sodas, or carbonated drinks of any kind, ever. Both by my surgeon and nutritious. Too many NSAIDS isn't good for anyone. Especially after having any type of weight lost surgery. We no longer have enough stomach acid to help break down whats in them. Too many NSAIDS can also cause kidney damage in the long run. Speak to your medical team. They will know what works for you since they are the ones who know your medical history. Good luck on your journey ????

When will the sluggishness subside?
dark n lovely replied to Mich4351's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Give it a little more time. U jst had major surgery only ten days ago. As u start eating more u will get a little more energy. I am also 9weeks out and i still have nausea....lol your stomach has to get use to food again. Use the dissolvable anti-nausea pills you were given after surgery. They should help. Good luck -
Hello sweetie. I have Kaiser. They have a good program for their members. I went to classes for three months, did blood work, had a swallow eval. Saw the cardiologist, psychiatrist dr, and a bariatric dr before i was referred to a surgeon. Being a Kaiser member allowed all of my drs and the drs in the program to communicate with one another. Also to be able to have full access of my medical history. I am almost 9weeks post op. I have lost 44lbs. At my heaviest i was 398lbs. I lost 120lbs on my own but slowly gained back, up to 300lbs instead of being 398. I lost again on my own, down to 240lbs but would gain 10, then lose 7,then gain 5.....up and down. Then i had additional medical issues that was stopping me from working out....so i had a gastric bypass. On August 5th 239lbs On surgery day August 12th 226lbs. Today October 16th 195lbs Good luck on your journey.

Look At This. ! 8 weeks Out
dark n lovely replied to olsonjb's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 8 1/2 weeks post op. I have lost 44lbs but still see a plus size woman in the mirror. I weigh 195lbs, feeling better, and wearing smaller clothes but continue to think im fat???? I am on a regular diet but i dont crave anything. Nothing satisfy my taste buds. I just make sure i take my vitamins, drink plenty of water, and get in my protein. I continue to pray that i do just as well as everyone else i read about on this forum. I understand my journey just begun and it will take time. Its just i have dreamed of being small for so long i worry i will wake up to find this has ALL been a continuous dream all along...lol Good luck sweetie. Im sure you will also do great???? -
Im sorry that wasnt how i was trying to get my point across. .lol... I believe he was saying there is a two year waiting list to receive weight lost surgery, not a waiting list to check the gall bladder. I know the program i was in checked all vital organs, small and large. Especially if you may have other medical issues. Thank you for bring my incorrect text to my attention ☺

Thank u ladies. I thought it was just me. I hate food, im not hungry, and when i try to eat it makes me sick or it doesn't satisfy. I drink lots of water. I try to do the protein shakes bu i have trouble with those....bloating, vomiting, gas. I think i should go back to the clear, Isopure Protein drinks. I also lost 44lbs in 7weeks...lol my dr told me it will slow down. Thank you again for sharing. I needed to know i wasnt going crazy...lol and its not just me????
-
Hello i have a question. If i continued to just drink my protein i really dnt have to eat? I am finding myself not hungry and nothing satisfies me when i do eat. I am 8weeks out. I lost 44lbs so far. My dr feels i lost too much too fast and placed me on a regular diet, lol, not working. I dont like food, as funny as that may sound.

My journey just started.
dark n lovely replied to LdySheCat's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your new journey. I also did well during my recovery and is now 8 weeks post op. I am doing the opposite with the water and food. Loving the water, on a regular diet but my stomach doesn't like too much of what i have tried to eat. Soups, lots of water, and yogurt is my favorite. I am also having trouble with my shakes. I get gas, bloating, and sometimes vomiting. I have lost 44lbs so far. And just order "New Whey"protein shake (clear), to see if i can tolerate that better. Well, welcome to the forum. Good luck???? -
I believe Beni was saying there is a two waiting list for the weight lost surgery, not to check the gall bladder.
