    BLOATING

My surgery was 4 weeks ago tomorrow. I stayed sore for a good while. Doing pretty good now. I freaked out this morning for what I called "low weight loss" - after really looking at the numbers - I'm doing really well. These forums are a God send. They keep your mind in check. Good luck and I hope your soreness goes away soon.

May I ask when you had your surgery ? In reality - when I look at my timeline and the numbers - I haven't done all that bad. I'm sure everything will be fine with me - will continue to post . The good and the bad :-). As one post said, I'm not running a race - I'm living a new life :-)

    DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY

You know, you're right - not looking at the scale is a good thing. I just noticed something a few minutes ago. Even though I feel like I'm stuck at 3 to 4 weeks out - -- I just crossed my legs. Most people will not even think that's a big deal. But I have not been able to do that !!!! I can cross my legs YAY. Progress without a number on the scale :-)

    DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY

Babbs - thanks for your support. Everything you've said - and all the others that have responded have definitely lifted my spirits and have been very supportive and helpful. I am going to try that recipe posted. I think my culprit may be cream of chicken soup. My take home paperwork said I could have strained cream soups. After having some cream of chicken soup (after just liquids) it tasted like Thanksgiving Dinner. But I so feel it may have too much sodium - even though I used Healthy Request. I need good choices ! Thanks again - glad to know we're in this together. With all of you ❤

Can you give me some "experienced" advice ? I need good ideas for the puréed stage to make sure I'm getting in good proteins and not too much salt or other bad stuff. Anything you could tell me would be appreciated. Good luck on your one year post op ????

    DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY

Thanks - this is why I love this forum - you get help from people who've been where you are. My problem is, I compare myself to 3 others that I know closely who just blew it out of the water. It's not happening that way for me. But as ALL of you have and are saying : we're all different. And... I did not know about the dreaded 3 week stall. What a relief to know about this. One thing I would like to know, just for extra help is : ideas of what to eat during the puréed stage. And what most of you are doing to get your protein in. Anything anyone could tell me, I would be very grateful ❤. Again, thanks for slapping me back into reality ????

    DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY

Thank you all so much. Yes - I was - as we say in the south "pitching a fit". LOL. - you all are absolutely right - when I do the numbers/averages - it's great. It really is. I just needed a good slap in the face ! As far as failures - that's a whole other story. I need to realize I'm only a failure if I quit trying . I love all your responses. And thanks so much again ❤
  12. I need to take your advice ! Woke up disappointed this morning - feeling like a failure. I have no idea why I'm not losing - I just need to try harder I guess and stop comparing ! That's where my frustration comes from. Thanks

    Old habits....die hard.

I agree ! All events are surrounded or centered around Food ! I've not had a good morning - so encouragement isn't my strong suit today. But I feel your pain and wish you all the best. We did this to get healthy. Surely it will come.

    BLOATING

Grocery shopping and grandkids both wear me out quickly . Ready to be strong and begin working out. I want this weight off so bad. I want to be able to play with my grandbabies and not get so tired :-/.

    Slow loser in East, TX

I'm concerned because yesterday I ate a whole can of Vienna sausages . Not quickly of course, but I ate all of them. Was that bad. I'm almost a month out. Have I already stretched it out. Very concerned :-/.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm just going to keep up with my fluid, protein and calorie intake and try to walk as much as possible. Surely it will begin to come off. I'm keeping the faith. ????

    BLOATING

Yes - that happened to me too. And I was thinking "what the heck". But I'm a bit of a worrier. Working on that. I hope to soon be the one to have that great success story and CHEER everyone else like these forums have done for me. Hang in there. We're cheering for you ????

    disappointed at 1 month

It's great to have these forums. I sometimes feel like I'm all alone and that I'm the ONE this isn't going to work for. I was sleeved 9/16/14. Hospital weight was 221. My scale this morning showed 205.8. So I guess I'm whining about nothing. Being home and not working allows my mind to go crazy. Retirement might be for some, but sure isn't for me. As soon as my 6 weeks are up - going to look for a "low stress" job. If that exists LOL. Thanks to everyone for all your posts. They've been very encouraging. ❤

    Old habits....die hard.

Hi Jill - my office was the same way. Retired now, I don't have that temptation. But stay strong - you didn't go through all that you have for the "momentary satisfaction" of a candy bar. Rebuke that devil LOL. Go for the lifetime satisfaction of health and being proud of yourself. You're an inspiration to me as I am a sleeve baby : 9/16/14. Looking forward to the amount you've lost. You go girl !

    Sourhern Cooking

I was sleeved 9/16/14 - initial dr visit was 8/28/14 and weight was 223. Surgery date was 9/16/14 and weight was 221. So didn't lose too much post op. today 10/9/14 and I'm at 206.6. Am I on schedule ? Seems others are half MORE by now than me. I'm not able to reach any of my goals. Also having problem with ideas for puréed stage. I need to get the protein in as well as the water. So hard to do both. Am I alone in this state ?? :-/

    disappointed at 1 month

8/28/14 initial dr visit I was 223. Surgery date 9/16/14 I was 215. Today, 10/9/14 I'm at 206.6. Discouraged - I do compare myself to others. Is this just another thing I will fail at - stays on my mind. Praying for better results soon ????
  23. MDB9/16/14

    I feel like a whiner...

I've joined the whined group LOL. My initial dr visit 8/28/14 I was 223. Surgery date 9/16/14 I was 215. Today 10/9/14 I'm ONLY down 16.6. Believe me I know how it feels to be afraid that I'm going to fail at this too. I didn't go through all I've gone through for such little success. I'm on my last week of puréed foods. I'm at a loss as to what to eat anymore. I am having a very hard time reaching my daily goals. I am a self pay. Need encouragement deeply. I did this for it to work ! :-/

    2 weeks post op

JenVsg2014 - yes I am on puréed as of last week. I enjoy cream of chicken soup. It's smooth and tasty. But for me right away I gained 3 lbs - so depressing. As of this morning I've lost 2 of those. Most other people that I've talked to - they stuck with shakes for breakfast and lunch and then ate some type of protein for dinner. I'm not finding anywhere online ideas for this time period. Which is discouraging. But what I have found is that my loss is half of the general sleeve population at this point. I'm not getting much exercise so maybe that's it. I also saw where one person couldn't eat a whole scrambled egg. I can with no problems. I suppose everyone is different. Another thing that I have eaten are the baby food meat sticks as well as Vienna sausages. Just chew chew chew. I really wish I could find more information. I sure didn't do all of this to get stuck and stay here after only 3 weeks :-/. Would like to stay in touch and encourage and bounce ideas off of one another if you would like. Another idea that someone gave me is refried beans. She goes through Taco Bell and gets the pintos and cheese. I have not done that yet. She was sleeved around Christmas and has lost 60 so far. I'm in Texas - you ??
