  1. I only told one person at work and she is now in the process of getting approved to do the same so I know she won't say anything to anyone. People are too judgmental and it is none of their business anyway. My family and close friends know and I have shared with other friends that could benefit and now they too are in the process of getting approved. My husband has a harder time figuring out what to say when people ask him how I lost so much weight and he doesn't get why he can't just say I had surgery. It's not like I'm lying when I say I needed to get healthy so I dropped the carbs

Way to go guys! My 1 year is in a week and I'm down 95 lbs! Hoping for five more, but I'm happy where I am

    Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

I have never been good at tracking, calories, etc., but here is my typical day: Breakfast: Quest Bar (filling and the Fiber really really helps me) Lunch: Quiche (minus the crust) or leftover meat from dinner Dinner: some sort of meat I have made my family - Half of a grilled cheeseburger patty, grilled Italian sausage link, small portion of grilled chicken, steak, pot roast, etc. and typically a tiny portion of whatever carb I served (I can't go no carb!). Snack: cheese stick, hummus with a few pretzel chips, a few cups of popcorn, a small portion of nuts, frozen yogurt... I won't lie, I'm not a veggie fan so I really don't eat any.
  4. I have BCBS and I think I was around 38 with sleep apnea only. Got approved and couldn't be happier with my decision! Good luck!

Hi Everyone! Just touching base, which I have been really bad about! How is everyone doing? I'm still moving along slowly, but surely at this point - about 1 lb. a week. I'll take it though!! I have not been able to exercise at all since I broke my leg in January and I'm lucky enough to just be able to walk without the boot, crutches, etc. at this point. Extremely thankful that I had surgery and lost a chunk of weight before I fell or I would have probably gained 50 lbs. laying around for two months. I only weigh myself around once a week now, which seems to work better for my psyche now that things have slowed down. I'm shooting for 21 more lbs. to get to 150, but will be happy if I land anywhere in between. I am wearing a size 10 and I'm not sure I have ever been a size 10 before. EVER!! Just being able to shop in regular stores makes all of the past several months worth it!! I hope everyone is feeling great and keep up the good work!

Oh no, I broke my leg on 1/15 & had surgery on it 1/22! It sucks so much not being able to walk!! I has WLS 10/28 and was down 70 lbs the last time I weighed myself. Keep up the good work everyone!

    Getting very scared

I'm 5'8" and weighed 255 when I started the process in July. I had surgery in October and am down 50 lbs overall. My only regret is not doing it sooner!
  8. A friend of mine had surgery with Dr. Cook and loved her! I attended the seminar with Dr. Greene, but due to insurance reasons, I opted for Dr. McKenna in Frederick even though it was not as convenient. I had surgery on 10/28 and am down 50 lbs since July. Good luck to all - it is well worth it in the end!!

I had surgery with Dr. McKenna at Frederick Memorial on 10/28 and could not have been happier with the entire process! The hospital was much nicer than any of the others in my area!

    I Want Chinese Food!

I've had very small amounts of white meat Kung Pao chicken a few times already with no problems! Avoid the rice if you can though. I've had issues even with tiny amounts. Enjoy!

Cookies sound yummy! Maybe add a little unflavored Protein powder too. I have a hard time most days getting enough Protein also. Word to the wise though....If you aren't already, take Benefiber!!! I didn't and ended up having emergency hemmie surgery yesterday! Dying over here....
  13. My surgeon required endoscopy with H Pylori test before I could get approved for surgery. Sorry you are having to go through this now.
  14. Prayers for you and your wife!!
