How does one get into a story like this. I've always been a big guy. For as long as I can remember at least. As a kid I was a bit bigger but healthy. I was very active, playing sports, involved in school activities and ate a reasonable diet.
When I graduated the wheels fell off. I settled into a career and made exercise and a proper diet secondary. Even as I got older and started a family it was never a priority. It's sad to look back on all those years of poor decisions, however it has brought me to this decision.
This is a procedure I looked into a few years ago and it took everything I had to finally look myself in the mirror and pull the trigger. I've met some people through Bariatric Pal and they are encouraging and mentors in a way. I feel very confident as I close in on my surgery date and believe I will be highly successful after.
The future is bright for this soon to be not so big guy!
