Help! Incision is opening surgeon useless
cdenney123 replied to CE24's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the same problem with one of mine and it looked like that and was pussy and my DR said to just put gauze on it and it will heal on its own which it did. I would not worry too much Im almost 6 months out and the one that I had an issue with healed just fine. Its just a little scary knowing its an open wound.. -

I gained in order to qualify and it was all worth it I lost what I gained just on the pre op liquid diet. Good Luck

Birth control and surgery
cdenney123 replied to mrshopeful's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on the pill, but they told me I had to stop the month before and 3 months out because of blood clots. I now use the ring Im not sure if it has the same stuff as the pill but that could be an option or IUD. But regardless its a 3 months out rule for birth control. -
Nicotine Level Test
cdenney123 replied to ajones3300's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So odd I never had to take a nicotine test.. But I did not have to take a lot of test people talk about suck as a leak test. I think all Drs are different on what they test for. But its best you stop anyway because it does effect your recovery -

I do like this idea since dating is already hard enough then throw the WLS in the mix its pretty much impossible. I really have a hard time telling anyone that I even had it done. -
At what age would you have Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) if you had a do-over?
cdenney123 replied to JustWatchMe's topic in The Lounge
I would have liked to have had it done 10 years ago as I was struggling to lose weight and tried it all from exercise to weight watchers to diet pills. But, timing is everything and there is a reason why now and not then. -
How long did your hair fall out?
cdenney123 replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine just started falling out about 4 months out its been about 3 weeks of when I play with my hair, comb it or even just look at my shirt I see my hair falling out. I already have thin hair so its concerning, but I knew this could be a side effect. -

Did doing Weight Watchers eliminate your waiting period (Cigna)?
cdenney123 replied to Mel24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It did for me I got the records that I have been on it for 5+ years on and off and my insurance accepted it with no diet that was required for 6 months. -
6 months in & can't eat solid food
cdenney123 replied to higfir2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Im 3 months out and I have the same issue,, I can eat solids but I prefer mushy foods and Protein shakes. Its really hard for me to eat and not drink.. I need Water so I think that is my problem on why its not comfortable for me. -
I had to wait 7 months. The approval takes awhile and that was with no diet restrictions like some people have for 6 months.! Take care
-
The main concern my Psych really centered around was family support and who would take care of me. I have a history of dieting and weight watchers so I think they do want to hear that you have tried before this is the last option.
-
I just eat the toppings as well and only 1 slice. the crust goes in the trash and its usually the works so its veggies and meats. I only eat 2 bites anyway so the calories are not that high for me a day.. I need to actually get more in as Im at 500 a day usually
