    2 questions......please advise

about 3-5 more days which is normal after surgery [sharedmedia=trackers:tickers:5025]
  16. I would go to a doctor 1st thing. If your diet was high in sugar before that may explain the lose of energy feeling.

    Buddy needed

1st thingis relax it does get better! 2nd focus your energy on understanding that your body is at the beginning of a new process so it has to adjust and there will be some thing that you can no longer tolerate. find things that are light on your stomach. I find eating foods that are heavy are very uncomfortable and make me vomit. Eat sllloooowwww! this is the best thing to do as big people we tended to eat fats large bite, but we no longer have the stomach capacity we had but our brains don't know that yet so we tend to try and eat like before. listen to your body. right now its out of wack and trying to tell you slow down until I adjust. i will pray for your healing and remember this is the start of the journey and it really is worth it for your health.

    Scared Myself With Websites

many of the so called horror stories are really about people who did not do as told, not following the eating plan, fail to diet before surgery drinking and eating at the same time etc. All surgeries have risk ,but most can be prevented if there is good communication between dotor and paiteint. My surgery was a breeze with no complications, there was some vomiting after but is was due to sedation issues not the surgery itself. I pray you go foward and get as healthy as possible.

    Seven Months Post Op

After 7 months I have reach my goal of 190lbs and fell great. The most challenging part of this lourney so far has been to adjust the way I eat. You can no longer take large bites of food, no drinking with your meal and waiting after you drink to eat. Some foods now have very little appeal to me and i avoid heavy foods all together. This was a health choice for me, no high blood pressure, blood sugars are back to normal and my arthiritis is under control so i would have to say my surgery was successful. I have recommened several other people start the process, if you have questions please feel free to email me and i will help any way I can....

    Down To 220!

Well I'm meting away according to my family and friends, but that's a good thing. I,m still trying to readjust to eating solids but them seem to get right in the middle of my chest. Also having problems with learning how to swallow correctly as my stomach is not big or deep any more so this is a new feeling and i have to get used to it. Planning on heading to Clearwater beach this weekend to hang with the wife and family. I hope all the new sleevers are taking it easy and being patient. God Bless! P.S. I am creating a website www.fiftynotfat.com, where the goal is to help those who are 50 and over learn how to get in shape, eat right and get health, so I'm looking for people who write, give advice on health, lifestyle and fitness. www.ffiftynotfat.com

    Things I Didn't Know (Lol)

Let me say to every who is think about having this surgery DO IT! Man each day is just getting better and better. Many people choose to undergo this surgery as a means to improve health not looks. If your suffering from sleep apnea, diabetes, high blood pressure or other obesity related illness, this is the reset button! i'm 3 weeks post op and no longer need my CPAP, blood pressure 120/80, Blood suger 128. The day I got home I walked one mile and have increase that until now i'm riding six mile on my bike. Also waiting for clearance to lift weights. Now the downside: I was not aware that I was not to eat more than 1oz, so of course i was trying to eat the allowed 4oz, I figured out that will not happen right now. I think it was a mind thing because I am almost never hungry. Still working on the fluid increase i was able to drink 80 for a couple of days but, that started reflux, so if any one has any ideas on dealing with that let me know. My reflux shows up about 5 to 6am every morning for the last week and a half. The fact that i can get out and be active again is so cool! I'm down to 225, but my focus is to get physically fit again. So I hope for those how have doubts that we on the forum, can give you the info you need to make a educated choice. this is a tool not a miracle cure for obesity, so if you can start approaching food and exercise with the right attitude you will be well on your way to being healthy.

    Things I Didn't Know (Lol)

As with any life changing decision this one has questions as well. My goal was not to be fifty and fat. I was not a big kid and really put on weight in my late 30's and early 40's and when I turned 47 I realized I was dying a slow unnecessary death. Now at that point I could choose to continue on that path or make up my mind to make changes that where in my own best interest. Choosing to be the best you that you can, should be everyones goal, because a healthy self regard is a sign of self value and love. www.fiftynotfat.com

    Ok,,,,,,, One Week Post Op

Well....... I've made it! The 1st week is the one I feared the most, because you don't know what to expect, but over all its been good. I feel like I shaould have done this years ago and i already feel much healthier. Dr kim told me so many people promise that they will follow the diet, but some fail..... well I refused to be one of the failures. I 'v waited too long to feel better, bend over with out hurting and being able to sleep a full night. I find sleep very different than it's been for the last 5 years with sleep apnea. When i first came home I noticed that each morning i would have to burp for about 30 minutes after i was out of bed. I realized that during sleep i was swallowing air from the CPAP, so I will have to get that adjusted or I may not need it anymore.

    Pre-Op, Jittery And Older

1st take a deep breath........ Now the 1st thing to understand is this step is about your life not anyone elses. Your goal is to get as health as possible with what ever means you have to accomplish that. Don't look to get others approval, because if you never get healthy they will carry you casket and complain about how much you weigh, so their still gonna talk about you til your in the ground. This surgery is a tool nothing more and so you have to look at it that way. You've already made progress so use that to build on one task at a time. You will find if you focus on the steps instead of the overall picture you success will build.
