  1. I had VSG surgery on 12th November 2013 at Nuffield hospital, Brentwood. Mr Koak carried out my op with a size 28 bougie. I had the greatest care and no pain or nausea at all. My highest weight was 275 and I'm now 179. I know I could have lost more during the honeymoon period, but I stupidly snacked and boozed. I'm back on track now and although it's harder to lose the weight, it is very possible. I'd like to lose a further 20 pounds. I took out a bank loan for the surgery as the NHS would have paid for a bypass, but I didn't fancy that and I wanted the surgery quickly. This is the best thing I've ever done for myself.

The shakes are quite low in fat - I lost over a stone on the pre-op diet, and my liver was, apparently, in tip top condition (according to my surgeon). I'll be thinking of you on the 26th and hopefully you'll recover really well.

I have progressive multiple sclerosis so I can't exercise much, apart from swimming. I could never have lost this much weight without my sleeve.

    Hello

That's brilliant and inspirational, Chris!! I completely agree with you and a friend of mine who has seen my results has her op booked in the Czech Republic on 31/05/16. I am so excited for her and hope she does really well. Have a lovely holiday.

    Hello

How are you getting on, Chris?

    Hello

Thank you, both, so much! I did put on about 10Ibs, Kathy, but it's off now. Focusing on at least 60g of Protein per day, no more than 40g of carbs or fat, and loads of Water. Swimming once or twice a week, depending on how tired I am and whether my legs want to play

Hi jessjames, There are quite a few forums etc you can join. Bariatricgal, WLSsurgery etc. Have a look on Google. Good luck with your surgery! Are you doing any pre-op diet? I did 2 weeks of 3 Slimfast shakes per day and Water. I was so focused I found it relatively easy. I must admit tho I mourned the loss of some foods and I tried to ensure I had all my favourites in the month before the pre-op diet.

Hi Soodoo, Wow, you've done really well! I must confess I weigh myself far too often but I just can't help it. I would love to be able to properly exercise, but the MS stops me. Thanks for letting me know about the UK part. I'll take a look.

    Advice please

I had my VSG in November 2013 and have lost about 100Ibs. Great result! Trouble is the last couple of weeks my mouth has been constantly watering (not vomiting tho) and I've got painful jaws. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I've emailed my surgeon but he hasn't replied yet and I'm starting to worry. Thanks ????
  10. Milk of magnesia worked really well for me.

  12. I had my sleeve surgery at the Nuffield Hospital Brentwood, UK. My surgeon was Mr Yashwant Koak. He and the surgical team were absolutely brilliant!
