Question about being "finished" with weight loss
bellabloom replied to kat77's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I would recommend cutting out carbs and really tracking your calorie intake. Everyone's metabolism is different and you may need to lower your calories. Keep at it, it will happen! -

Before And After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Photos

My doctor weighed me one time at the first appointment. That is the weight they submitted to the insurance. They weighed me again but it didn't matter that time because I'd already qualified -

You look great. I guess if you are only 7 months out, you have not had any plastic surgery done? Your arms look amazing. I don't have barely any loose skin. A little bit I'm reallllly thin right now. A little on my legs if I bend then a certain way, tiny bit on arms but not noticeable. What I do have is on my stomach but I've also had two huge babies! I'm very lucky and won't be getting plastic surgery. Maybe some day a tummy tuck but not in a rush -

Your not alone. My best friend had surgery and a bunch of her friends dropped her. It happens. People are petty. Be happy for the hard work your doing. Only people who have had this surgery understand how hard it is and how much work it entails. Short term and long term. Ignore it and after awhile it will pass. Just stay professional and don't share too much personal information. Keep your chin up and surround yourself with supportive people -

That's true. I just think now is a very hard time for you to be around those foods and I feel for you. I was lucky and didn't have to do a pre op diet -

Will you be trying to change their diets after you have surgery? Why not have a talk with them about helping you out now by eating more healthfully. You shouldn't be having to go get macdonalds and donuts. That's so unfair. Your life is about to change and they need to realize it has to change for everyone -

Are your husband and daughter overweight? -
I had surgery with a weight of 240 after the diet. My rny was fine at first but I started having complications. To this day we aren't sure what caused them, but after four months in and out of the hospital I had my surgery reversed and had gastric sleeve instead. It's very rare to do this but this was my surgeons suggestion. My first surgeon was a total jerk and was very unsupportive. It was a tough experience and very scary. I had two pic lines and went days without eating or drinking. After my sleeve surgery, my major complications stopped, but I have never been able to transition to solids. My sleeve surgery was March 2015 and I've never had a full meal. I found a new surgeon who has diagnosed me with a stricture and scar tissue in the spot they reconnected my pouch from the rny with the new sleeve stomach. He has done one dilation on me but it did not help. He wants to continue the dilations. The ironic thing is that he says if the dilations don't work, I may have to go back to rny. So I'm 123 pounds at 5'6 and still losing about two pounds per week. I can't seem to settle on a weight loss goal and I'm terrified of entering maintainence. On the positive side, because this post is not in any way intended to be negative towards this surgery- I have never looked or felt better. I feel amazing in my new body. I love the way I look now. I Celebrate this body by dressing up and buying clothes and enjoying a dating life and a social life I would never have had otherwise. My confidence is through the roof. My back pain is gone and I have more energy for my kids and life in general. This surgery have my my life back and released me from the chain of a food addiction. I would do it again in a second!!!! Again and again. Because guess what? Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Period. I hope my story helps you in your journey. I highly recommend this surgery, it is a wonderful tool that can give you the leverage you need to lose weight and the truth is the vast majority of people do not have complications. I would do it again in spite of mine and I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has for me. Here are some photos of me. I haven't had any plastic surgery and don't plan to. Before: Most recent: The last one, me swimming with my kids, is something I could never have done without this surgery.

Stricture dilation -does it work?
bellabloom posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone had a stricture dilated with success? I have one and had my first dilation today. The doctor said there is a lot of scar tissue in my esophagus causing food to get stuck and vomiting. From what I've read on here, many people have had no success with this procedure and end up with stents or revision surgery. I'm worried. Has anyone been able to eat after this procedure? -

How about some NSVs!?!?
bellabloom replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The nurse had to use an extra small cuff to take my bp. I looked down and low and behold, my thighs don't touch. I have a thigh gap! The nurse at my go thought I was the wrong patient because I'd lost 100 pounds. Lots of people don't recognize me. Asking the sales ladies at stores to bring smaller sizes. Getting around a table without anyone having to move their chair. Wearing a bikini and swimming with my kids. -

sleeping on five pillows so I could breathe. Not being able to lay on my back. Yoga moves to wipe my butt. Not being able to shave my bikini line. Or cut my toe nails. Or put my shoes on. Having to sit down to put on my underwear. Having to pee all the time. The grocery bill. The restaurant bill. Eating alone out of embarrassment. Using the largest bathroom stall and dressing room. The size of my underwear. Not being able to find my bra size. Plus size stores!!!!!! The ugly shoes I had to wear, the ugly clothes. My hair always being greasy from the crap I ate. The black stretch pants. Thigh rash. -

My Journey- 240 to 123.
bellabloom replied to bellabloom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Some pictures of me along the way. I haven't had any plastic surgery and have a little bit of loose skin on my belly and I'd like a tummy tuck someday. There is a little on my legs arms and neck also but it's really mild and doesn't bother me, I don't need plastics there. Before: During: Most recent: -
HELP! I need to maintain 190lbs to have surgery
bellabloom replied to newstart38's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Do what I did. I stuffed my pockets with weights and drank a gallon of water. Totally worth it. I had five pounds to gain for a forty BMI and I wasn't going to gain it!!! -
Try drinking more water. It really helps. Also working out more. It seems counterintuitive but it works like a charm.
